32 years old.

Sculptor and modelmaker by trade.

Own a small independent film company.

Write, direct and edit in said company.

Born in RI, moved to Cali for a while and am now back in RI.

No kids but my dog Wanda. No wife.

Read everything I touch. Watch film constantly. Enjoy wasting time on my PS3 and endless all night drunken arguments, I mean discussions, with my friends. Pretty much constantly involved in some type of film or theatre production.

This is starting to feel like a personal ad, so I'm done now.

I am so NOT surprised by this brief, yet somehow complete bio/credentials.

Well said Cap. It does seem like the " UM dating thread" sometimes, doesn't it?

Hi all

My name is Lex, i am 27 years old and i live in the south east of England.

i work as a support engineer for a small software house in Kent though i may well be changing jobs soon.

I am one of these people that needs to be busy doing things constructive to better myself, the people around or occasionally those i dont know.

I tend to spend about 4 hours a week at the gym, about 4 hours a week doing Tiger-Crane Shaolin Kung Fu and the rest of the time i am working on my website which is dedicated to dragons, or playing guitar, or down the pub with my mates or most specially, spending time with my girlfriend.

I also like to occasionally go cycling, snowboard, go on holidays and i am currently learning to make dynamic content with websites using asp.net

Ever since i was a lad i have had a passionate interest in dragons, the mythology surrounding them and the affects on culture said mythology has. I had to have a large scale operation which put me out of action for nearly two years and in that time, being someone who cant do nothing, i decided to teach myself HTML, PHP, SQL and javascript to make my site affectively putting my passion to paper (though in this case a website)

Thats pretty much me in a nutshell

On a final note, there are some incredibly interesting people here. My compliments to Saruman and his team for creating such a powerful and diverse community. I am in awe!

Hello All!

I am new to this forum, so I'll tell a little bit about myself.

I am almost 40 (May 16) and I can't wait! My birthday is on a Friday night this year. I think my mom and dad planned it that way. :)

I am married (10 years) with 2 awesome kids. My son is 15 and my daughter is 8.

My husband is a Financial Advisor and just opened his own business.

I also have 3 kitty kats and 2 hamsters. Several rabbits and birds reside in my backyard, but I don't know their names. he he

I grew up in a very small town and had only 48 kids in my Senior class.

After High School I had a travelling sales job and travelled all over the USA for 5 years. I've been to every state except for Montana and every major city in between. I love the song 'Heart of Rock 'n Roll' by Huey Lewis and the News because I've been in every city in the song. Yee Haw

I am a hairdresser (13 years) and have a salon in my basement now.

I'm also a karaoke DJ on the weekends at my cousin's bar. That is a blast. If I have enough beers I sound just like Tanya Tucker (I think ;) )

I've always been into the paranormal. I've always had a bit of a sixth sense and thought it was just completely normal. I quickly found out that it was not the norm, so I kept it to myself. A near death experience about 9 years ago brought it all out again. I still keep it to myself and am freaked out when a spirit tries to invade my space.

I love camping and just plain having fun. I love to tell jokes (the dirtier the better) and embarass my kids (and my hubby). I can talk just like Marge Simpson, Butters from South Park, Harrry Carey and many more. My son just loves it when I do that in front of his friends. NOT! My daughter encourages me to do it in front of her friends---just wait about 6 or 7 years though! ;)

Life is for living and I try to do just that every day. Positive attracts postive , so I try to be positive all the time. No matter how black or grey the cloud is, there is ALWAYS a silver lining in it somewhere. You just have to look at it from the right angle.

I've had 3 best friends for 23 years and love to get together with them for margaritas and Bud Lights.

I am very close with my brother and sisters also, and we all love to sing together. My sisters and I can do an awesome rendition of 'Midnight Train To Georgia' by Gladys Knight and the Pips. It is so much fun. My brother can sound just like Tone Loc on 'Funky Cold Medina'. It is such a riot.

Well, that's about all I can think of now. I will leave you all with these very wise words: IF YOU ARE GREEN YOU WILL GROW. IF YOU ARE RIPE YOU WILL ROT!!!!! Stay green everyone! ;)

Wow, never even knew this topic existed. So, I guess it's my turn.

The name I mostly go by is Big K. Just a nickname that has stuck with me since 7th grade.

I am 33, engaged, with 1 child (about 3 weeks old at the time this was written)

Born and raised in a small town in Ohio. Still live in Ohio now, with my beatuful fiance and son.

I went to school for engineering, but have worked in many different fields over the years.

I've worked as everything from a bouncer, to a roady for heavy metal bands, to IT manager. I currently work as a tradeshow coordinator for an internationally owned comany, but will soon be taking a job as a Data Center Manager.

I'm a big guy (6'3", 240 lbs) and work out alot. I spent many years studying 3 different styles of martial arts(Shorin Ryu, Gen Wa Kai, Khali Silat).

My biggest hobby is special effects. I've worked at haunted houses since I was 9, and have always made my own costumes, masks, props, lighting, sound effects, etc. I ran my own haunted house for 2 years, and both years was voted best in the area.

I've done work on several films, and even made a few on screen appearances, but would rather stick to the FX. I've also won awards for my masks/costumes.

My other main hobby is ghost hunting. I am the tech manager for one of the branches of the TAPS family. I'm kind of a skeptical beleiver when it comes to pretty much anything paranormal. I believe things could exist, but will be convinced once I see if for myself.

I am working on becoming a member of Mensa. I almost aced the practice test I took for membership. It rated me as having an IQ of 159. Not sure how accurate that is though. I've always been in the "gifted" classes, but 159 seems a little high to me. An iq of 130 is needed for membership.

I'm a firm believer in brains over brawn, but it never hurts to have brawn as a backup too. ;)

I've always had an knack for electronics, and am working on some new "ghost hunting" gadgets. I just don't think anything that exists today is quite what is needed to do the job.

I'm a laid back, easy going person, with a good sense of humor. However, I have ZERO tolerance for rudeness. I've seen too many people in all my years of bouncing get into way too much trouble because they could not conduct themselves in an adult manner. Luckily, as the bouncer, I got to bounce those people right out the door. And I always loved the 5'4" drunk guys who thought they could take on a 6'3" 240lb martial artist who is sober. I have no respect for people who cannot control themselves.

I like mostly hard rock/heavy metal music, but pretty much love all types of music. Anthing from classical, to bluegrass.

I have traveled all over the world, for business, learning, and vacation. The only place that I have not been that I really want to see is Australia. Love the culture, people, and scenery. I've stayed mostly in Europe, for several months at a time, several times.

With the birth of my son just a few weeks ago, I can honestly say now that my life is complete. I had set many life goals for myself at a young age, and achieved all of them before 30. Mostly these included movie/FX goals, and world travel. Now, with my son being born, the last piece of the puzzle of my life has fallen into place. now that mine is complete, I can dedicate my time to helping him put his together.

Hey er'body!

I'm new, I'm 18 an ima dude, I've always loved the paranormal. The mothman is probably my favorite monster. I'm friendly and always looking for interesting people to talk to, on here or MSN, or something. I've had a few strange things happen to me, but nothing way too insane. I'm a skeptic, but that doesn't mean I won't believe you. ;)

27 year old male (turning 28 in August), married, and have two kids (two girls, ages 5 and 4) who are both Mexican on their mom's side. We live in Detroit...well, the burbs anyway. :P

I usually browse but don't post in the topics that deal with paranormal stuff because I've always had a very hard time expressing my opinions "in real life" and even online, due to the fact I've always been a painfully shy person. In fact, I was depressed often as a kid and suffered from social anxiety disorder.

Dropped out of HS because of the disorder and depression but later got my diploma.

I'm interested in the paranormal and have never really known why, as I've had no experiences or anything of that nature. It was just something that always intrigued me, ever since I was a kid. I will admit that I am a softy for Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. :P

I am really interested in Buddhism. The concept of reincarnation fascinates me and I also, like a lot of people, like to think about what happens to us after we die.

The best way to get me to open up is probably through sports. That's one of my passions. :)

I'm 26 and working as a receptionist in the Boston area. I have a BA in Creative Writing from FSU and an MFA in Writing For Young People from Lesley University. I'm a native Floridian, originally from the Orlando area. I love gymnastics. When the Olympics rolls around, if anyone has any questions please ask! I'll be more than happy to explain the new scoring system (where if you get a 10.00 - that's a really awful score!), and anything else. I'm also into the arts. I write, I make collages and draw, I'm a classically trained vocalist and a self taught pianist. I've also acted in several independent short films. I'm kind of a free spirit, and I go wherever the wind blows.

I've always been fascinated by the paranormal and underbelly of society. I grew up near a spiritualist camp called Casadaga, and my mother would take me there frequently to speak with psychics and mediums. As a child, I was very in tune with the spirit world, and had a few experiences. As an adult, I can feel the presence of spirits, but I am well protected by strong spirit guides, including my great grandmother, who was Native American.

I love murder mysteries. My first novel, which is almost completed (I have a full draft - am still doing some slight revising), is a mystery for children.

Thanks to the last few posters.

As a reminder, I think it's a good idea to post a link in your signature, to your post about yourself. Like I said, it's just a way to get to know some of our regular posters, and maybe put a little more stock in some folks opinions based on their "resume" if you will.

Just a few thoughts.

Hmm. I'm not quite as exciting as most of the folks here.

I'm a middle child, living in middle america, rapidly approaching middle age. I'm not particularly well travelled.

My intelligence is average (ahem, some may think average is a bit lofty for me...)

I don't know what I believe. There are days I believe in nothing. I also know the answers aren't here, but it's fun to look.

I'm usually more skeptical than not. Would love to see something paranormal actually proved, but am realistic enough to know it may not ever happen.

Intensely curious, painfully shy, loyal to a fault.

Oh, I'll go.

I'm male, and will be 30 in a few weeks. Not partnered up, nor do I have any kids. I do have a slightly stinky, very drooly basset hound, though.

I grew up in North Carolina, and hated it. I left home when I was 18 and haven't been back for more than a few days.

I got my ABs (three of them-- English Literature and Composition, Art History and Appreciation and Dramatic Art) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, my MA in Theatre History and Criticism from Hunter College, Manhattan and my PhD in Theatre History from the University of Washington. I work now as a lecturer in Theatre History, and as a director, dramaturg and playwright. I run a small Off-Broadway theatre company. My area of specialisation is English Renaissance plays, usually non-Shakespearean, and have published several academic articles on the intersection of that period drama and Queer Studies.

But for most of my 20s, in between my ABs and the other degrees, I lived in the UK running around after some scummy (and lots more not-very-scummy-at-all) indie musicians. I lived in London and Glasgow, writing songs and playing instruments for any bands what needed it, writing freelance music reviews and acting as a scout for US labels, and sleeping with any musician I could get a look from.

Right now, I'm writing a play that's a musical adaptation of Marlowe's Edward II, featuring the music of Franz Ferdinand, which is the first project that's ever sort of combined the theatre-y stuff and the music-y stuff I do.

Wow. That's quite a background. You've managed to live an interesting life.

I love this kind of reply, because it really gives a sense of who you are, and could easily explain your responses or reactions to the topics you reply to and get involved with. Well done Jay. :tu:

Erm, well I don't quite know what to say so this is what I've got off the top of my head.

I AM..

- 20 years young, born in MA but raised in MI.

- of Scottish and English descent.. UK all the way!

- an ex drug addict but got the slap in the face I needed once moving to ME to live with my dysfunctional family.. think Celtic Jerry Springer.

- a recovering bulimic/anorexic though still struggling off and on.

- a motherless daughter (as of 2003).. died of a heart attack very suddenly.

- a high school graduate, technically a drop-out after missing 90+ days junior year but took night classes, raced ahead of the rest of my peers and graduated a semester earlier than them.

- a molestation & rape victim though I'd like to think I persevered, albeit having a few abandonment and sexual issues.

- potentially furthering education in psychology and writing.

- in love with love, my cats, my friends and my family.

- currently taken by a Jake Gyllenhaal clone, though with the way I go through boys there's no telling how long this will last :(

- considered disturbing yet addicting according to close friends (I find this to be the most fitting description thus far).

- interested in many things, including but not limited to: WWE, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, Edie Sedgwick, Egyptian mythology, music, writing, alternative lifestyles, modeling and of course the unexplained.

- fueled by my emotions rather than "normal" human logic.. some consider me to be quite the handful and I'd have to agree.

- fairly in tune to the paranormal and believe that I've had numerous experiences with it.

- thinking that if you want to know more you can easily PM me :tu:

Well:

- I am 32 years old, born and raised in winston-salem NC. It is a small comfortable place.

- I have traveled as far north as NY, south FL Keys, west KY. I have never been out

of the USA, though I would like to travel to Ireland someday.

- I am of Irish, Cherokee, Canadian descent.

- I never completed school, went back and got my GED in 93.

- I started out building furniture for Heilig Meyers; I done that for about 3 years. Then I got

into restoring partially burned homes, apartments, commercial buildings etc. for about 1 year.

I have always worked on vehicles most of my life, so I decided to give that a try as a career.

So, I started working for the Saturn company, then moved on to chevrolet, after about 3 years

of that, I had enough of dealerships. I then started working for Wal-Mart TLE, and have been

working on vehicles for them for about 10 years now. As well, I took a 2 year advanced,

computer tech course. On the side I take calls and travel around my city and fix/upgrade

peoples computers.

- I am a well read person; I have read atleast 200 miscellaneous books. So, I have a rather

large collection of books... :unsure2:

I suppose thats about all I can think of right now. But, if I can think of anything else I will be

sure to come back and add it.
