Uploader comment: A pic I drew shortly after I first encountered the legend of the Jersey Devil. The desciption I was going after then was horselike head, great bat wings, long thin hind legs, cloven hooves, snakeline tail and horns. I was going to give it front paws, but I couldn't get them to look right so I skipped that part. I also took some liberties with the colouration, as I figured that dun was the best colour for this particular JD. I'm quite fond of this pic, but I'd like to hear your opinion. So fire away!

Learning the legend of the Jersey Devil in my youth probably led directly to my interest in Cryptozoology. I've even lived in at least 2 place where the creature was seen, and my mother may have heard it back in 1952, during the time of the Gibbstown scare. I've found that because of all of the supernatural elements that have been tacked onto the legend, the Jersey Devil seldom re...

Seldom recieves the respect and attention he deserves from Cryptozoologists. He does seem to be a favourite of folklorists though, for obvious reasons.
