Strange 'shadow figure' spotted on the moon

A Google Moon image showing a peculiar human-like shape on the lunar surface has gone viral.
The latest in a long line of anomalous objects spotted in photographs of other worlds by eagle-eyed Internet users, the tall human-like figure appears to be standing on the surface of the moon casting its shadow across the otherwise desolate landscape.

Posted on YouTube by the user "wowforreeel", the discovery soon went viral with close up shots of the mysterious humanoid appearing on news and social networking sites across the web.

It isn't clear exactly what the object is however the leading theory at the moment is that the sighting could simply be a case of pareidolia, the psychological tendency for the human brain to see meaningful things in otherwise abstract shapes and forms.

What? What has this got to do with the subject at hand? How very odd... Well, it's obvious. We're too dumbed down to notice giants walking on the moon, and it's all Obama's fault.

Well, it's obvious. We're too dumbed down to notice giants walking on the moon, and it's all Obama's fault. But we're not dumb enough to photoshop one on the moon, with backwards-pointing shadows. Hmmm, you're right. It is all Obama's fault.

When are we going to learn ? The Moon is party central in this neck of the Galaxy ! But on a serious nut, Dr.Neil deGrasse Tyson has done some stellar math on the photos and come to the conclusion that the Creature is Indeed taking a wizz on the Moon and this is really going to flip y`all out ! This guy can wizz 900 meters out, and is 250 meters TALL ! I WOULDNT p*** HIM OFF ! Maybe we need to stay put on earth until he leaves on his vacation ?

Likely just some type of optical illusion. I think some of the moon structures look compelling but this is not one

Hi everyone. For what it's worth, the "giant" here is just a piece of dust on the film. Google is using a series of Apollo 15 mapping camera shots for that particular region of the moon. One of the frames, AS15-M-1151, has a bit of dust on it. Here's a sequence of three Apollo 15 frames, the one with the dust fiber and the frames immediately before and after (1150, 1151, 1152). The three shots were taken only a handful of seconds apart: The dust fiber only appears on frame 1151. Here's an enlargement of the fiber. Pericynthion, well done - as usual, nailed to the wall... Back on the very first page, I said that I avoided bothering with claptrap like this because: 1. Youtube is not where you go to find serious research (neither is Google Moon) 2. If this was seriously and properly done, the 'researcher' would have: a. Given us the coordinates of the 'anomaly' (perhaps he did - and if so it would have been nice if that bit was quoted here...) b. Gone off to find the highest resolution *original* imagery of that location from the numerous other sources (not just NASA....) and presented that.. And now we ca... [More]

Pericynthion, well done - as usual, nailed to the wall... Back on the very first page, I said that I avoided bothering with claptrap like this because: And now we can all see why - thanks to Peri not being as lazy, cynical and jaded as me... You're welcome. To be honest, I did this for my own amusement because I enjoy these little puzzles. I wasn't actually planning on posting anything, but the thread just refused to die and eventually wore me down ...

Ok peri,Now we know where the Giant went ! The New mapping of the moon shows the Giant Hatch Door they go into the interior on there moonship ! Missing Mid about now !

A giant walking on the moon, eh? - well, it sure sounds legit.. but forgive me for not wasting my time viewing the youtub-eo, which I have avoided for two reasons: 1. Youtube is not where you go to find serious research (neither is Google Moon) 2. If this was seriously and properly done, the 'researcher' would have: a.
