A bizarre interview on Good Morning Britain saw identical twins answering questions in perfect sync.
YouTube favorites Bridgette and Paula Powers look identical, dress in the same clothes, spend every waking minute with one another and can even tell what the other is going to say.
Their most extraordinary trait however is their apparent ability to speak in unison - a phenomenon that they demonstrated to great effect during an interview on UK television this week.
Hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid seemed both shocked and amused as the twins answered all their questions in perfect sync without knowing what they would be asked beforehand.
While some have cited the interview as evidence of twin telepathy, on further analysis it appears that the two women may be speaking slowly so that when one starts talking, the other can copy them.
Even so the video, which can be viewed below, is certainly compelling.
Yep my sisters too are identical. Do you consider one of them the 'oldest'? We always did in my family, even though they are only 4 minutes apart. I never really thought it too odd, until someone pointed it out to me. It is kinda a weird distinction.
I have never heard of these women before - and I am sure they do a fabulous job with bird life etc....but honestly they freaked me out...and their slow and drawling accents were simply horrible. There is only one word for them........WEIRD.
Seems a bit fishy to me. notice how when they want to talk in unison, they talk slower as to have one start and the other can anticipate the next word. Now when they start to talk faster, they stumble on each other . You can watch improv shows where they talk in unison also.
I agree. The way they talk in unison seems funny. You can hear them talk a bit slow then all of a sudden quick. It made it hard for me to understand what they where saying.
I think what they do saving wild birds is amazing but the talking thing is two people who are very familiar with each other, as identical twins tend to be, who follow the others lead in these situations, although the lead changes.
My daughter and I do this all the time. It cracks people up. When you are so in tune with another person this becomes more and more common. No need to be twins to say the exact thing at the same time.
