US pilot ordered to shoot down UFO

An American fighter pilot flying from an English air base at the height of the Cold War was ordered to open fire on a massive UFO that lit up his radar, according to an account published by Britain’s National Archives on Monday.

Thats new, he was ordered to fire as many as 24 rockets at a mystery bogey and a big one at that. Deffinitly odd and we will be seeing alot more of these kind of reports as the military of the past ages and they no longer have to fear reprecutions for speaking out, cool.

Something here seems strange to me. American pilot, British orders? And opening fire indiscriminately? And way back then, how did they calculate that it "sped away at 10,000 MPH"???

Radar would give a pretty good indication of speed. Plus there was no indication it was a British order, America has planes based all over the planet especially during the cold war. This is but a peek as to whats to come lol ok I have a soft spot for UFO's

Well if he is telling the truth. it means the governments are not in contact with the aliens. if they were they wouldent be shooting at them. unlkess the good aliens told them to shoot the bad aliens.

How do you know? It happened in 1957 and we were pretty much new to the world of UFO...Now its 2008...51 years oviously something happened...

A lot of these occurrences I've heard seem to have happened throughout the FIFTIES for some odd reason. What WAS it about THAT PERIOD that seemed to INTEREST them so much?

One expert said that this UFO incidents started to show after US dropped Atomic bombs which might trigered a signal to the space...who know...Not to mention THE ROSWELL in 1947 and 1949..

Also, you have to remember this was in an age where the nuclear bomb had not long been used in Japan and the world was in a heightened state of paranoia about a nuclear event.
