A team lead by 'Yeti specialist' Igor Burtsev which set off on an expedition in the mountains of Siberia to find the legendary creature has come up empty after bad weather hampered their progress. The expedition was fueled by reports by local hunters who claimed to have seen the creature in a cave several kilometers long. The team plan to return in the summer.
The expedition that went looking for bigfoots in a cave in the mountains of Siberia has so far been fruitless, but its organizers blame the weather for failure and say they will return in summer. Earlier this week an expedition headed by “yeti specialist” Igor Burtsev set off to explore the several kilometer long cave in the Kemerovo Region, where local hunters reported to have seen the creatures. The expedition returned to Moscow without any success."

I suppose there's a fine line between chasing dreams and chasing shadows.

^ Taken from the source. Maybe the reason they failed is because maybe it does not exist, yet I suppose they have to make up excuses and blame it on other things to try and keep a small glimmer of hope alive that such a creature exists. You’re acting as if this is the only expedition ever taken, there is a lot of evidence to support the "yeti". Just because this particular expedition came up with nothing doesn’t mean there's nothing out there.

You're right that this isn't the first expedition to take place but none of those that went before have brought back any solid evidence either, that's probably why people tend to get a little cynical!

The yeti's were in a cave with the door shut keeping warm while the researchers are out in some snow storm looking for them.

I used to believe in yeti/bigfoot, but you'd think by now there would be at least some hard evidence of its existence... a body or some bones. Not just bear hair and questionable footprints.

Here's an article about unidentified hairs found is South Asia. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7525060.stm I've also seen some compelling evidence for “Bigfoot” on a documentary called Monster Quest where an expert on footprints, specifically ape footprints, analyzes some plaster casts of a “Bigfoot” footprint and is able to determine that it is not faked due to the detailed "feet-prints”, like finger-prints, and that it is the print of an unknown primate. I know it's not the same as the yeti but if one mystery ape-like creature exits its evidence that more can exist in other ... [More]

Monster Quest?? Documentary?? Really???? Yes I know it sounds like a low-budget kids show, but it is a documentary and I stand by it's findings.

Is there? The evidence of the Yeti is as good as any that exists for dragons, angels, aliens, ghosts, fairies or an honest tax paying democrat. That is... there are stories and eye witness acounts, but no proof that any of them exist.
