Biblical plagues really happened say scientists

A volcanic eruption and global warming could have been the cause of the plagues detailed in the Old Testament.
The plagues are believed to have been the result of a series of natural disasters and events that would have been the basis for those detailed in the Biblical story of Moses. A new National Geographic documentary will detail the findings on Easter Sunday.
Researchers believe they have found evidence of real natural disasters on which the ten plagues of Egypt, which led to Moses freeing the Israelites from slavery in the Book of Exodus in the Bible, were based.

My question is Rameses II the Pharaoh of the so called Exodus and Moses. Just cause it is on a book doesn't make the whole story true.

...wait, hold on- they claim global warming (which supposedly started due to us humans pumping CO2 into the atmosphere after the Industrial Revolution) created these events way before the Industrial Revolution?... I'm not sure this makes sense then...unless for once there's scientists who are admitting global warming is a natural occurrence that has nothing to do with humans... i'm guessin the global warming was caused by the volcanic eruption

Free your mind. Whether God exists, or doesn't exist, closing your mind to a broad concept like that is foolish and you learn nothing. I have a free mind. I'm open to anything really

MY GOD do you know what this proves?! People in biblical times drove SUV's as much or more then us! Since our contributions to global warming haven't caused 10 plauges yet I guess we aren't doing as bad as we thought, so fill em up ladies and gents , Moses and crew wanta go for a drive.

Archaeologists now widely believe the plagues occurred at an ancient city of Pi-Rameses on the Nile Delta, which was the capital of Egypt during the reign of Pharaoh Rameses the Second, who ruled between 1279BC and 1213BC. Technically, the article does make sense. If we consider the time period of the 10 plagues of Egypt, the departure of Moses and the Hebrew, the parting of the Red Sea, the duration of the tribulation in the desert, Moses would have seen the construction of the Temple of Solomon, the (alleged) loss of the Arch, the Destruction of that Temple under Babylonian rule, the reconst... Or it proves that climatic oscillations have occured for millenia as all the evidence seems to prove..... That in no way means that we aren't causing climate change at the moment. Anyway, I find it fascinating how natural events are translated into legends and religion. The same thing could have happened with A... [More]

Free your mind. Whether God exists, or doesn't exist, closing your mind to a broad concept like that is foolish and you learn nothing. Absolutely! And from that logic I am totally justified in demanding that I am allowed to run my own church (with all the benefits and tax breaks) worshipping...ermmm....Zeus!! He was a really interesting God that I could warm to. Or Odin. Or the great spaghetti monster. My mind is wi...ide open my friend. Its those bods who have only one god and persecute the rest of us pantheists and atheist that are close minded. Go in peace...

So who was it? Them scientists doing science stuff, or 'reseachers' (whatever that is), or archaeologists? My backside twitches when I hear newspapers claiming that 'scientists' have done this, or claim that, or have proven the other. Hmmmmmm
