Remains of the largest rat every to walk the planet have been discovered in a cave in East Timor.

The massive rodent was three times the size of its modern counterparts, weighed as much as a small dog and is believed to have died out 2000 years ago.

I saw a musk rat once that had a tail about two feet long and it was pretty big, maybe eight pounds. It made some awful hissing noises as it crossed the street and everyone stopped and stared at it. It was quite a sight.
