A bear cub has been rescued by a local wildlife commission after having its head stuck in a plastic jar for 10 days.
It is believed the cub got the jar stuck on its head after foraging through rubbish in the Florida neighbourhood, residents assisted wildlife officials in tracking down the cub and separating it from its mother while the jar was removed.
The clear plastic container was removed from the cub's head, where it had become lodged after the animal was digging through rubbish in a neighbourhood in central Florida.

And you call yourself Human... *condemning stare* The Ocala National Forest is a big place and it not that easy to catch a bear. Having lived there what I object to is the open trash bins in the forest. People don't have trash pickup, so they take their trash to open bins located in forest for pick up. I can't believe that is allowed to go on in a national forest, it is a shame.

As a native Floridian, I've been to the Ocala National Forest many times to go canoeing at Juniper Springs. I had no idea that there were bears there, though I've seen lots of other wildlife. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Nice to hear they were able to save the cub, but I'm with Darkwind, anyone familiar with bears, knows that they're going to go straight for the the trash. Why are there open bins??
