Nine Wari tombs discovered in Peru

The discovery is being hailed as the most significant historic find in Peru since Machu Picchu.
Flourishing between 700 and 1200 AD the Wari predated the Incas and are thought to have inspired aspects of their culture and political system. The find may mean historians will have to rethink the origins of the Incan empire.The finding in the southern Cusco region suggests the Wari, who flourished in the Peruvian Andes between 700 and 1200 AD, may have controlled areas where the Inca empire later flourished.
