The London council has been quizzed over its bizarre use of "keep off the grass" signs.
Locals were left baffled when one sign was placed on a tiny piece of rough grass measuring 3ft by 2ft at the side of a road. "It is a ridiculous waste of money, especially in the context of council cuts and redundancies," said resident Tom Beardmore.
"It's a patch of scruffy grass barely big enough to sit down on Ė but that hasnít stopped one town hall making a great deal of fuss about it."
