Mutilated cow found at Northland farm

Police were called in after a cow on a farm in Northland was found with its organs surgically removed.

Missouri officers arrived on the scene to find the cow had been deprived of it's udders and sexual organs in a professional, surgical fashion. A vetinarian examined the cow and confirmed that whoever had done it "knew what they were doing". Oddly, despite the type of procedure that would have been performed to remove the organs there was next to no blood at the scene. The gate to the field was also locked and there were no footprints leading to where the cow's body was found.

Police are investigating after a Northland farmer reported that one of his cows had been found dead and mutilated, apparently by someone who a veterinarian says knew what they were doing.

Hey zoser, you seem to prefer videos as opposed to other sources, so here's one. It even has that 'documentary' flair that you seem to enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mydYc2usHEg&feature=player_embedded It even has trustworthy police officers offering testimony. It should be right up your alley.

Good video, S2F! Again, I really want to see a real expert to call this a mystery before I consider it one. Cheers, Badeskov

Feel free to ask Frankly, I find crop circles, cattle mutilations and the abduction stories utterly absurd as a whole. What I find fascinating about this whole conundrum is the what if and the science behind it. Cheers, Badeskov

I'll admit that the psychology of belief and the subsequent total abuse of logic intrigues me as well. It's obviously a human trait because at some level we all do it regarding our closely held beliefs yet the extent that 'paranormal' believers got to is an unexplained mystery unto itself.

I find that incredible interesting aswell. Why people believe in these weird things. Suspending logic and critical thinking to get the result they so dearly want.

I find these points most interesting: A veterinarian examined the cow, and determined that it’s vagina and udder had been removed. According to the police report, the vet told officers that it was a precise cut and whoever did it “knew what they were doing.” say wha..... “”It’s amazing, like how the vet said, if he had done a massive masectomy like that on a cow there would be blood all over the field, but there was no blood,” said Phillip. Police say that when the cow was discovered on Thursday morning, the gate was still locked and there wer... [More]

All the softest and easiest organs for a scavenger to get at.

One thing that I find a bit odd is why people rely so much on a veterinarian's opinion of these mutilations when they work with living/injured animals, not dead decaying ones. It's like asking a pediatrician about a human corpse. They would know more than the average person but it's still not their area of expertise. That would be for a forensic pathologist. I'm not sure what the veterinarian equivalent would be.

I suppose they take the "authority" of a vet or a Dr as expertise, some of the vets I know arent much good with live animals let alone the dead. There are veternary pathologists too, im supprised they didnt get one to examine the carcass. I love how people see past the clear explanation in favour of the weird and wonderful. Like when they ask wheres the blood=the dead don't bleed, whereas the favoured explanation may be exsanguination via alien/hyrax/glowbirdchamealeons.
