Kerry Trebilcock likes nothing better than tucking in to a washing up sponge with hot sauce or mustard.
Kerry suffers from a rare eating disorder known as pica which causes her to crave otherwise inedible objects. On a typical day she will slice up sponges or soaps and eat them with her meals, at one point eating as many as five whole sponges every day. Thankfully Kerry has been receiving help and support for her condition and is hoping to break the habbit one day soon. "One day I will beat this and be able to have a shower or do the washing-up without feeling hungry," she says.
"She said: "The sauces and dipping the sponges in drinks softened them — and I'd chew them until the flavour was gone."
