A frog in China was saved from the cooking pot when the chef noticed its unusual extra appendage.
Frogs are a common food in China with frog leg soup being considered good for the bones. The five-legged amphibian narrowly escaped being turned in to someone's dinner by the eagle-eyed chef who noticed that it had an extra limb. The frog is now being kept at a local zoo where experts believe the extra leg could be due to either a parasite or exposure to pollution.
The oily black leg, which stuck out at an angle from the bull frog's body, wasn’t spotted by his first owner, as he was part of a wholesale batch crammed together at a local food market.

Well this is a fitting find for a leap-year! All he needs is a nice set of open-toad shoes and I bet he'll look pretty neat! :w00t: They should breed them really for the frog leg industry, you'd get more value per frog!!

If scientists can create a cross between a frog and a centipede it will be great for the frog's legs industry and keep the lobbyists quiet, since they are complaining out harming the wild frog population.

Hmmm, made me think that if they find more 5-legged frogs and keep them, but eat all the normal ones. One day, 5-legged frogs would be the only kind right? So why are we not doing this with chickens?!?!
