In a bizarre wedding ceremony, Jodi Rose has married the Le Pont du Diable Bridge in France.

Rose is a musician who travels around recording the vibrations of bridges for use in various musical projects. While she has visited a large number of different bridges, this particular bridge holds a special place in her heart. "He makes me feel connected to the earth and draws me to rest from my endless nomadic wanderings," she said. "He is fixed, stable, rooted to the ground, while I am nomadic, transient, ever on the road."

While her marriage to the bridge is not recognized by French law she did get the approval of the local mayor. "Our wedding is arranged with the help of friends from Barcelona, the community and artists in Arles-sur-Tech & Ceret, who give their blessing and support to the ceremony," she wrote in her blog.

"The bridge was constructed between 1321 and 1341. The highest point of the bridge’s apex is more than 60 feet off the ground."

Each to their own. Their relationship doesn't affect us, so why get so steamed about it?

marrying the bridge makes complete sense to me but thats because I'm one of those weirdo artist types - she's a weirdo artist herself, her thing is bridges, she travels around recording the vibrations of bridges - I'd love to hear those recordings, I bet they sound great - and I'm willing to bet she listens to them with a scientific ear and an artists passion - this has nothing to do with sex, gay, straight or otherwise - this is not a "legal" marriage by any definition, this is a classic example of performance art - shes committing herself to her craft and her obsess...
