Cosmos 1 set to test Solar Sail

After nearly four years of delays, the world's first solar-sail-powered spacecraft is ready for its day in the sun. Cosmos 1 will rocket into space June 21 aboard a modified Russian missile, according to mission planners.If all is successful, the spacecraft will become the first to boost itself into a higher orbit using nothing more than the gentle pressure of sunlight bouncing off its sails.The feat could open the door to all sorts of new and far-reaching missions.

I see Waspi Dwarf is covering this on our sister sight, Space Flight News.com. I hope any one with an interest in Space, Air craft, Sky Watching, or Satellite launches will come over once in a while. Maybe the lack of a Spell Check for the posters keeps some away?

Indeed everyone should come and check out SFN it trully rocks, I would but at the moment my Interent is once again playing up on me and I cant access it or a number of other sites. "SIGH"Hopefully the mission is a great success and promotes the use of solar sails for future space missions.
