Stalin planned 'ape army'

Soviet dictator Josef Stalin tried to create an invincible army by crossing humans with apes, according to secret documents. The Kremlin chief ordered his scientists to create the mutant species that would be "resilient and resistant to hunger".Archive papers quote him demanding the breed should be of "immense strength but with an underdeveloped brain".Part of his terrifying plan was use the mutants to work on railway construction, according to The Sun.
