UM-Bot Posted February 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Image credit: stockxpert It is not the sort of discussion you imagine among the grey-suited ranks of Whitehall - defence analysts debating the existence of little green men and speculating about whether they have visited Earth. But a set of newly released internal Ministry of Defence documents gives a fascinating insight into the military's interest in UFOs. MUM24/7 Posted February 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2007 The way I see it is, they were discussing the implications of what UFO's would mean to our planet, if it was discovered that they really existed....They never suggested that they have one under lock and key but that they should start investigating reports of thousands of sightings..... So really nothing new or profound here, but it's only my humble opinion.......
uth Posted February 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2007 The way I see it is, they were discussing the implications of what UFO's would mean to our planet, if it was discovered that they really existed....They never suggested that they have one under lock and key but that they should start investigating reports of thousands of sightings..... So really nothing new or profound here, but it's only my humble opinion....... The shock for me is that they were only taking this on in 1993, after decades of reports of sightings. How can there have been no military interest in reports of unknown flying objects allegedly operating in British airspace all those years? It's possible that this wasn't the first clandestine inquiry on the topic. It's possible that the people who commissioned it were unaware of other attempts, if they had occured. Lt_Ripley Posted February 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2007 of course they were mulling the subject long before 1993. Governments have been 'mulling' the subject of ufo's as long as they have been able to fly and realise the weapon potential for themselves and lack of being able to do anything militarily about them. what I found interesting was this line from the story - "Russian, former Soviet republics and Chinese authorities have made a co-ordinated effort to understand the UAP topic... makes me think about the satalite China just recently shot at. I think the only ones who don't believe that 'ufo's ' ( and UAP is a better discription) exist really have themselves in denial and or are fearful in reality. As for thier peice of a craft as proof - see the gov't. plenty of gov'ts have em. Unless of course your naive enough to believe the gov't is honest.
