Is the world we live in actually real or could we be living in a computer simulation ?

Naive Realism is the notion that we see and perceive reality as it is... this is not the case. Husserl put it well... "all perception is based on gamble." This would explain why the US has Trump as president - some stupid 12 year old kid is playing us like the Sims and thinks it's hilarious to put some random thick nutjob in charge to see what will happen.
