This method Is still used in Texas by old timers for finding water. I watched a man mark his entire water line from his house with this method prior to digging out the water line with a backhoe. This man is the Director of an Emergency Room in East Texas by the way. He is not a dummy by any stretch.

i've been dowsing for years, with an 80% success rate, so i know it works (for me, most of the time), but if you think about it, with water being the foremost pre-requisite for life, it's natural that we'd develop a sense for finding it. what i can't explain is map-dowsing, or asking a pendulum questions (the method i use) to get an answer. unfortunately, i can't view videos on my horse-drawn phone so i don't know derren brown's findings (which is a shame, because the man's a genius!)
