Buddhist mindfulness, which includes dream mindfulness, is much the same sort of thing. It's okay I guess to be able to stop a dream that you don't like, but I don't think it's terribly useful to take it further, as mindful dreaming is not as fully asleep as you might need. I don't know for sure all the things the mind and brain and body are doing during sleep, but whatever they are we don't want to interfere too much unless we have good reasons.
