To take root
With age comes the wisdom
to embrace life's joys
and to endure with grace…. sorrow.
For bitterness is a bitter fruit
that poisons everything,
making joy impossible to experience.
though it can be a struggle
to the death
for hope to take root.
All souls bleed,
wounds hidden beneath our smiles,
no one is left innocent
from the wounding of evil,
yet we can heal one another
by allowing grace's calling
to enter out hearts.
Though the struggle will always
A new beginning
(Women’s cursillo 9/26/13)
Beginnings are everywhere,
they bring us hope,
a gift to be embraced
To be welcomed into a new community
is a beginning without price,
freely given in love,
a home of sorts,
where we find friends
and those who try us,
all equal in their importance.
To deepen ones faith,
to allow the heart to expand,
for ones faith home to become alive and real;
is this not truly
the best beginning of all,
that will encompass your whol

One of the things I look for in the posts here is trying to understand the mentality of belief. The main things being why people would believe in a god (specifically one that does horible things) and why people seem to value their guns (Americans especially).I think understanding the mentality of both of those things is important especially when they ignore the damage done b
So, update on my US NAVY stuff. My recruiter told me basically how to get the Rate (Job) in the Navy that I really want, EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit) I have been hounding for this job day one and he finally told me how to achieve it. First: Pass MEPS (Medical Examination) Check. Second Step: Swear in, Check Third Step: Pass a SEAL test (Generally most associated with people becoming NAVY SEALs but all Spec Op units have to do it) Okay I took Marine Corp JROTC for four years in high sch
Today was my twenty-first birthday. It's supposed to be a big deal, I think. Most people on their twenty-first birthday go out, buy booze and get drunk. Just because they can finally do it legally. It's a part of life. A rite of passage sort of. I like to tell myself that I don't care about that but the fact is, I'm an old-fashioned guy. I'm a fan of tradition and in America that is one everyone looks forward to. I don't even really like drinking (not that I would know anything about it... ) bu
This is the third one this year,
they are coming faster it seems,
stark reminders of mortality
easily forgotten and overlooked.
People known for decades
now as if they were never here,
a fading memory that lingers
flavored with sadness over the loss,
unequal in depth and sting,
there for all none-the-less.
Soon resting beneath the clay,
leaving this earth like he came,
with only his love to fly him home.
I went up to the meds room to get something for one of our guest. When I got there, I was informed that Alphonse fell and needed help getting up. So I went down with Gerard and went to Alphonse’s room. Raphael was there and asked me to help get him up. When I talked to him he did he did not respond, so I checked his pulse. So I told those there that I think he just died. So we place him on his bed and checked again for vital signs. There were none. So he went peacefully, fas
A strange and funny lunch
Many years ago (around 1980), I went with my adopted Aunt, Darlene Naylor, out to get some things for the family guest house here. While out, the trip took longer than usual and so we decided to get what we thought would be a quick lunch, but wasn’t, but certainly interesting, funny and frustrating.
We walked into this small restaurant at 11 AM for an early lunch. At first it seemed kind of strange there. The tables were arranged in such a way that you thought
Unfortunately, I post this with a heavy heart.
The drummer and bassist of this band are a life long friends of mine.
Brad Barnett, the drummer, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer today.
I knew him longer than anyone else, given he sat next to me all through grammar school, and we also went to high school together.
The entire NYC punk community is in mourning, and I post this here for him.
RIP old friend.
You were one of a kind.
Prayer is life breathe for the soul, it calls us to be present to the moment, to understand who is seeking us by the call to prayer, and the trust to continue in times of dryness, pain and even when having the feelings of despair. For God accompanies us, lifts us up, as we continue the road of our pilgrimage, difficult for all I believe, which give pause when we are tempted to judge.
Ghost Caught on security camera, One of the most mistaken evidence presented by people and the media is ghosts on security cameras. Who can not forget about ghost been caught on a gas station in ohio back in 2007.
The video shows the blow moving around and most people jaws drop when they watched the video. truth to be known, there is a more realistic explanation than simply blaming a ghost.
The camera is not a high def camera, they are also focused on a certain area. The Secu
In Sept or Oct of 1971 I made a Cursillo. It was a good experience for me. The fourth day is concept they use for what happens after the retreat. It was a powerful image for me, pointing out that how each day is a new beginning, and a chance to deepen ones connection with God as well as with the Cursillo community. Below is a poem I wrote this weekend, they are having a Cursillo here.
The fourth day
There are times in our lives when we come to a crossroads,
so we stop and think, ponder a
Religion without spirituality
Religion without spirituality becomes dry and empty. Christians have a relationship not with something, but with someone. Many people find that off putting and there are times when Christians are the reason for that. For infinite love can often be reduced to something unstable like human love. Idols are hard to let go of, but grace slowly leads us deeper into the mystery.....each in his or her own time. I both seek this love and fight it at the same time,

Virgin Mary’s message given on September 2nd 2013
“Dear children, I love you all. All of you, all of my children, all of you are in my heart. All of you have my motherly love and I desire to lead all of you to come to know God’s joy. This is why I am calling you. I need humble apostles who, with an open heart, will accept the Word of God and help others to comprehend the meaning of their life along side God’s word. To be able to do this, my children, through prayer and fasting you must learn to
About a year and a half ago, I had a dream that changed my life. I don't remember what happened in it, other than seeing one snapshot of the dream, which was me looking through the eyes of something in space, staring at the Earth. I have my own idea of what I was looking through, but I can never be sure.
I had another dream that followed not too long after, which was a waking dream into a sleeping one, and this one I do remember still today. I remember thinking in my room, and all of these witt
I can Control people.
Unlike my other blogs, where i show how to replicate or to educate people about technology to avoid confusion than blaming ghosts.
This is more of an opinion and i can say most people would click away from this blog. Some may read and some may just read the third sentance and just reply with some comment about me being a skeptic and not knowing the ways.
Being a some what active member for five years on UM and had read and replied the ones interest me. I am always baffle
I just got back from the coffee shop getting some tea. I needed something to sooth my throat and I was out dropping my kids off at school. I got my toddler some chocolate milk. I left it on the hood of the car. We fed the chickens then came in side. Soon enough he realized he did not have his treat and wanted to go get it. I got my aching body up again with a groan and went outside at his lead and I gave it to him. We walked back towords the house and he stops suddenly, looks to his left and das
The mind and heart of Christ Jesus
To seek to put on the mind of Christ Jesus, to ask to be one with his heart; to consciously seek union with what is real, not just an idea, but that which hold up reality, it is that which will transform us all......yet it is easy to forget and our faith becomes merely something we believe, but do not experience as real.....we lose our flavor, or we become bitter to the taste.
