John Barleycorn

'John Barleycorn Must Die' is one of my favorite songs. dig the lyrics, second version, best played by Traffic, in my opinion. There were three men come out of the west, their fortunes for to try. And these three men made a solemn vow: John Barleycorn must die. They plowed, they sowed, they harrowed him in, threw clods upon his head, And these three men made a solemn vow: John Barleycorn was dead. Then they let him lie for a very long time 'til the rains from heav'n did fall, And lit

next fad

i read a neat artical in some magazine. it was about 'fad hunters'. fad hunters are people hired by big clothing companies to figure out what is going to be the next fad, and of course the idea is to figure it out BEFORE it gets popular. they interview folks that are agreed to be cool, like famous singers and movie stars and such, and observe sale trends in clothes and music and such; they dont decide what will be cool next, they just get cool folks to help them figure it out. right now, the

Minmi, a small armored dinosaur from Australia, is has the shortest name among dinosaurs. when you put a shell over your ear, you know that splash

Okay...let's get underway.

Okay folks...I can pretty much guarentee this is going to be a sort of.."in the moment" thing when I post. I'm terrible at keeping up to date with things like blogs, and other assorted babble, but what the heck. I suppose I'll use this as a means of putting down random musings, and anything about my day/week/year/decade I'd like to share (depending on how often I post ). For now, however, I'll just give a hello, and a happy new year to everyone I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas while I was

Cabbages&Kings -- Falco Rex's Blog Name

I love this poem.... by Lewis Caroll, I presume that's where Falco get's his name from... "The time has come" the Walrus said "to talk of many things, Of shoes - and ships - and sealing wax - Of cabbages and kings - and why the sea is boling hot - and whether pigs have wings!" Just part of the long poem called "The Walrus and the Carpenter" that features in Alice in Wonderland, it has to be one of my favourite poems ever, I dunno if this can be counted as a trackback as it's a referenc

Apathy

I'm not feeling too well lately and understandibly I felt like taking a nap earlier. But that got me thinking; about my old grandfather mostly..The tiny 5' 5" guy who charged up the beach at Normandy without blinking and then came home and built his own house from the ground up between walking 10 miles to work every day and raising a family.. It never would have occured to him to lay down just because he felt a little sick. He had things to do, and he was tough enough to never let anything lay

hats and dinosaur colors

you know whats sad? that nobody wears hats anymore. the age of the hats is gone. if you watch an older television show, especially one from the fifties, youll notice that everybody wore hats back then. all the men had hats, all the women had hats, even all the kids wore hats. nobody even went out their house without some kind of hat on. now, the only hats being worn are baseball caps, straw hats (usually worn only by little old ladies working in their flower beds) and those stupid floppy-brim fe

New tactic

Yet again couldn't get to sleep til late last night, so annoying, but I'm trying a new tactic today, I'm not going to spend any time on the bed apart from when I want to sleep to see if that affects it in any way whatsoever, today I have to do media, film, english AND psychology work, so hopefully I'll be pretty tired after all that anyway, well I can hope anyway. On another note... I had the most weird dream last night, dreamt I was drowning in a canal... twice, first time I used steps (how w

Snow, Snow and More Snow

My family and I went to our relatives for New Year's Day and it was better than last years. However we had to worry about the snow banks, snow drifts, and snow blockage everywhere in plain site. After the party, that ended at 2:30 in the morning, we had to shovel the back street and as well as the front walkway. Too bad it had to snow now that we are a lot older to be makin' ourselves some snow caves and passageways in our front yard. Anyway, sad news is that 2 older guys in my city di

Total Movie Exposure

I've never watched as much movies as I have in a couple weeks, than I have before. I have watched way too much movies that I think I'm starting to forget some of them. I wonder if I should start posting them on my blogs... Anyway for my critique's on these movies. I'd say, so far, that King Arthur was a well done movie, but not as great as Lord of the Rings. I wonder what movie will surpass the fame and fortune of Lord of the Rings. But that's in the future and for the present, movies l
