Is Atheism a Belief or a Lack of Belief?

When asked to prove atheism is true many atheists say that they don’t have to prove anything. They say atheism is not “belief there is no God” but merely “no belief in a God.” Atheism is defined in this context as a “lack of belief” in God and if Catholics can’t prove God exists then a person is justified in being an atheist. But the problem with defining atheism as simply “the lack of belief in God” is that there are already another group of people who fall under that definition, agnostics. Co

From: There is Satan, and then there is Satan

I also found the Setians interesting as well. Like many Laveyans they were highly intelligent but somewhat theistic in their leanings,( though some would say they are deist), at least from what I read of them. [quote The Temple teaches that the true self, or essence, is immortal, and Xeper is the ability to align consciousness with this essence.[6] Self-initiation is knowledge understood as a conjunction of intellect and intuition.[9] The Temple operates in the context of objective and subje

Shawn Weed's NDE

Shawn Weed's NDE NDE's are not all sweetness and light. I have studied them for years and think they have something important to tell us all. This article is interesting, but to tell you the truth don't know what to make of it. They happen, people experience different things, some experiences can make us uncomfortable. Perhaps we tend to think that our world is the only one, or that if there is a spiritual world it is something less, or otherworldly and in a way unreal, not like our world a

Medjugorje Alternative theories have all been excluded

Medjugorje Alternative theories have all been excluded http://www.medjugorj...ories-excluded/ When it comes to apparition experiences, a whole range of alternative explanations are well-known to science. In taking on two among the most obvious – fraud and hallucination – the Croatian psychiatrist Dr. Bartulica concluded in 2006, starting out with his impressions of visionary Vicka Ivankovic when he studied her in the 1980s: “You have to ask yourself if it is possible that she is deceiving us

4 Literally Awesome Facts About Our Lady of G

4 Literally Awesome Facts About Our Lady of Guadalupe 1. It has qualities that are humanly impossible to replicate. Made primarily of cactus fibers, a tilma was typically of very poor quality and had a rough surface, making it difficult enough to wear, much less to paint a lasting image on it. Nevertheless, the image remains, and scientists who have studied the image insist there was no technique used beforehand to treat the surface. The surface bearing the image is reportedly like sil

- Catholic Exchange - http://catholicexchange.com - The Future of American Catholicism Posted By Russell Shaw On October 5, 2012 @ 12:00 am In Faith,Featured-Large | 9 Comments [1]Two new books by thoughtful Catholic authors take deeply different views of the future of American Catholicism. Both deserve serious pondering. One of them is called Why Catholicism Matters [2]. The subtitle tells it all: “How Catholic Virtues Can Reshape Society in the 21st Century” (Image Books). It’s the

Blind woman saw after sun miracle By Jakob Marschner on Jul 17, 2012 http://www.medjugorj...er-sun-miracle/ Raffaella Mazzocchi was blind on one eye when her family persuaded her to go to Medjugorje. When she saw a sun miracle, she first turned blind on both eyes for five minutes. But she could see when she opened up her sick eye, and when she opened both, her inexplicable healing was complete. The major sun miracle during visionary Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo’s apparition on October 2nd 2011

Medjugorje

Medjugorje PILGRIMAGE TO REPUTED APPARITION SITE IN SPIRIT OF DEEP DEVOTION AND PRAYER 25]If and when the Vatican rules on the apparition site of Medjugorje, we will strictly abide by that ruling. For now, the Holy See's press office has (twice) stated that priests and pilgrims are free to go there, as long as it is an unofficial pilgrimage (as opposed to a parish trip). Priests are encouraged to go and assist the faithful. 25]We are returning there because we have never seen a pla

God desires your love

Some time ago, while on a train from Washington to New York, I became engaged in conversation with a young man. He was a graduate of a Catholic college, proud of the fact, and quite determined that the Faith was to be his guiding star through life. Continue: http://catholicexcha...od-desires-love
