Is insanity

Doing what does not work over and over again,

unable to learn,

a cycle embedded,

lived out again and again,

is insanity.

War is an act of insanity,

seeking revenge also, for neither work,

yet both are pursued with gusto

like a man plotting to seduce a love one

knowing that in the end

disappoint will come.

Knowing that our habits kill us

yet we progress in them

cling to them

refusing to listen to reason.

Our addictions kill us by the millions

yet they are sought after,

manna from heaven perhaps?

Well, they turn to poison in our mouths.

Are we all insane?

I think I am,

for I cling to things that will kill me.

Chains heavy keep us penned,

locked in dudgeons of our own making,

refusing the light that will free us.

how we love the rusty metal,

the raw wounds they inflict;

yet we refuse to throw them off.

Yep, I know were you are coming from, feel the same way. I get way frustrated with myself for the things I cling to in life. Now that is a contradiction in itself,

"in life" you would thing if I really wanted to live, I wouln't cling to the rubbish, would I? But I guess human-nature has a way of taking your freedom of choice and making you stray of the real path of Life itself. Its all so frustrating sometimes. Just recently I gave away my TV set, and it has given me SO much freedom, I am trying my best to release myself from lots of other things that have a "Hold" on me. Just to know you are not alone in Life's nutty scheme is cool. If you do it, or want to do it, you can bet someone somewhere, has done it tooo. good luck
