Without a True North when confused, it can lead to walking around in endless circles……going nowhere. If lost it can be fatal for one who does not have a way out of the cyclic pattern, exhaustion and death are the result. For the Christian, the Lord Jesus is our True North, His word our guide and the gift of the Holy Spirit that heals and leads us, giving us hope that never departs from our hearts.

For all of humanity, the law of God is written in their hearts, which is also a True North. When inner turmoil and outer chaos are in full storm, without an inner compass we will do whatever it takes to survive, and in the end we will drown. Our lives are important, what we become is something we do choose. However only God, sees the heart, the soul and the deepest motivations……men and women can’t see others that deeply, or even them-selves, so judgment is not what we are called to do, we are not to judge ourselves, for God is greater than our hearts. We are called to keep on our path and helping others along the way. For Jesus said “Enter my kingdom, for I was hungry and you fed me, in prison and you visited me, naked and you clothed me, thirsty and you gave me to drink”…we are called to serve, it is easy to forget, and to speak our faith gently and with respect, but without fear.
