God suffers all lives
God suffers all lives
“There are many unjust situations, but we know that
God is suffering with us, experiencing them at our side.
He does not abandon us.”---Pope Francis
It is hard for many to understand what the Incarnation means. When something is revealed, it is not something new, just a truth brought to light. So the Incarnation, the Word become flesh, tells us something that has always been true. “God with us” and because Jesus has revealed the Father as love, it means that all that we experience is lived through by God. We suffer one life at a time, God suffers all lives, and I believe the Cross represents that. When Christ went to the cross, it is our life and death that he bore. It is our souls that we see when we look upon the crucified. Jesus used the metaphor of parent “Father”, the most loving of fathers, to help us grow in understanding of this reality. Yet we never will, for Infinite love is something that we are yet to experience in its fullness.
