Winter birds have arrived

Every year at this time we are invaded by wild birds that fly south for the winter. We really enjoy watching them at our feeder.

Mrs ZZ took these:

The American Goldenfinch arrive all the way from Michigan.

Female Cardinals, along with their mates are very popular visitors.

I feed goldfinches in the spring and summer here in Iowa. Pretty cool to see their bright flashes of yellow darting around the yard.

.ZZ. - what program do you use to resize your photos for UM? I had an app on my Kindle Fire, but it doesn’t work anymore.

Oh, what beautiful photo's ZZ. They're simply delightful. Indeed, Mrs ZZ is very talented as to be able to capture so well, these dear little birds.

Pileated Woodpecker earlier in the Winter. He is much bigger than it appears here.

Thankyou ZZ for your fantastic photos. We dont get such a wide variety where I live. There are many Pileated woodpeckers tho. I hear them in the woods and go in looking for them. They can really do a number on various trees !

Happy Birthday by the way :D
