Mary and the Holy Trinity
(Salve Window in our Monastic Church)

Our Salve-Window shows how the Holy Trinity is involved in Mary’s greatness. This brings to light the Trinity’s love, and the freely given grace, as well as her special place in our Christian Faith. It also shows as well the Trinitarian desire for the destiny of all men and women. Mary shows us what we are all called to…..oneness with the Holy Trinity.

The Father pointing, saying this is my Beloved Son, listen to Him. The Spirit, the life-giving grace and love of God bringing about the incarnation, and Jesus, fully human as well as divine, becoming one with all of mankind.

Being the greatest of all of God’s creatures, she is also the humblest. For her exaltation does not come from herself, but from the pure gift of God’s love. Above all of God’s children, above all saints, and angels, she understands her total, and complete dependence on grace, and in that is her greatness. Like Christ Jesus, Mary is the servant (loving Mother) of all.

Just as Elizabeth, and John, leaped with joy at Mary’s approach because they felt the presence of the Infinite in Mary’s womb, so, we as well are called to bring Christ to others, and to share our joy with them in showing love, charity, and forbearance.

So, we are also called to become servants of all.—Br.MD
