Riding the wave (The historical process)

I do believe that the most important point for me to remember, sometimes I have to struggle with it, is that when someone thinks, or believes differently than me on some important issue: It does not mean that they are in anyway less than than I am.

It is a matter of focus, what is deemed important to both parties. Being a Christian, this will no doubt have a profound influence on how I look at life, and some of the cultural issues that are going on at this time.

That does not mean that I am on the right, or even for that matter on the left in the political sense. I do believe that most people are in the broad middle and do not fit into the stereotypes that are being thrown at one another so much of the time.

I am of the opinion, that people get angry because they do communicate a stance that is taken seriously by them. So this can bring out the worst when two different sides of any issue are being discussed. I have come to the conclusion that the historical process, of which we are all a part of, is like a giant wave diffiuclt to divert, or to even control. This process destroys much, and the rebuilding takes a lot of time. Or the wave destroys so much that something else must take its place.

Sometimes people can become what is called a 'troll' because of the feeling of not being listened to on a personal level. Anger begets anger, and so it continues. Of course some trolls are just people that should be pitied and ignored........not fought with.

I do believe that as a Christian, I am being commanded to "Put on Christ". How does that look? Not sure, I am still in the process of becoming more conscious of that fact.
Below is a prayer that I like to say everyday, slowly and with a desire to be open to the grace that I am asking for:

Lord,

May our feet journey together,
May our hands gather in unity,
May our hearts beat in unison,
May our souls be in harmony,
May our thoughts be as one,
May our ears listen to the silence together,
May our glances profoundly penetrate each other,
May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father.
Amen. *

There is much in our culture that pains me deeply. Self-destructive ways of seeing the world and reacting to others.

We can over time come to embrace mindsets that goes against what it means to live in a society that is humane and just.

I have no answer, yet I will try to put on Christ Jesus. Not as some abstract theological principle but as a deep reality often overlooked by Christians.--Br.MD
