Show respect for all people

The climate in the United States is pretty ugly at this time. It would seem that Christians could be the worst offenders in how they attack one another and even condemn them to hell. I recently wrote a piece on 'Silence' and posted it on a Catholic site. The response I got was strange, over the top, irrational, and condemning.

Even though the area that I posted in was the thread on 'Prayer', he took it upon himself, without checking with me, that I was writing the latest letter from our beloved Pope Francis. I guess it shows the level of anger in this country, but I keep thinking that Christians would be a little better. Yes naive, I know. I struggle as well and have failed.

Many can get upset over sins that they themselves do not struggle with, and do not take into account their own failures, which in fact could be worse than those they blast. It is a human thing. Yet I will not go back to such a place and post. I will not name the website because there are many good people there, and even those, the one, who blasted me, I know is speaking from anger, pain, and perhaps a feeling of being betrayed by the church.

I will continue to go to the website and read and comment, but I will no longer post. That way I will not without intention upset someone there.

Why am I writing this? On the internet, it is easy to troll, attack, put down, and even damn to hell those who disagree with us, or with whom we may misinterpret. I will not be waiting for an apology, since this is not the first time this has happened. It is a Catholic site, but there seems to be a worm, or worms, in the middle of that apple.

So please, if you are Catholic or Christians, you represent all of us when you respond to others. Disagree, preach too, but keep it respectful.

Show respect for all people: Love the brothers and sisters of God's family, respect God, honor the king--1 Peter 2:17. The showing of respect can be very diffiuclt, not as easy as attacking.
