Why the crudeness?

Someone needs to explain to me this compuslsion of society to think that adult is synonymous with vulgarity, crudeness, explicit violence and sexual content.

I was watching snippets of the animation 'The Justice League' and so on and while the storylines were great I was turned off by the vulgar language and gratuitous violence and suchwhat.

It's not that I am weak minded that I cannot take it but I just do not understand why entertainment aimed at adults needs to incorporate such elements. I was watching episodes of 'Helluva Boss' and it is pretty good and even amusing at times but the liberal use of the F-words and frequent sexual innuendos gets tiresome and is a turn-off when trying to understand a storyline.

So much gore, violence, cruelty and depravity..is this how adults are viewed? Is this what the adult populace likes? Really? Being an adult I find myself baffled and confused because a great storyline doesn't need vulgarity, crudeness and overall nauseating themes to be entertaining. (Though I have to admit the I.M.P Jingle from Helluva Boss is pretty catchy)

I know many will think me a weak minded wuss because I do not enjoy such themes and tern away from music and movies where explicit sex and violence are the main attraction..I just..don't get it.

I prefer milder, more enjoyable productions like Steven Universe, FullMetal Alchemist or anything that actually has a theme and holds something that makes you think.

I dunno..just rambling..

Haha. Sorry. I meant I agree with what you are saying and thats why I enjoy anime

Adults insist they have proper social skills, manners and etiquette on what to say or not to say in polite company, but we can handle taboo humor, subject matter and topics. :-/ Somehow, I'm not shocked by viewing sexual innuendo and un-PC humor, then again, I can't stand to watch fantasy violence and bodily functions. I have limits, you know. +

I don't find viewing childbirth disturbing (I watched my own 2 kids be born and my wife's relatives/in-laws deliver their kids on video), but to view file footage of the suffering of the Nazi death camps in the Holocaust is what I find very disturbing. Naturally, we find filth, hate, corruption and greed to be offensive, and there's a lot of that in our world. +
