The Rosary of Divine Mercy

The Rosary of Divine Mercy
“‘I remind you, My daughter, that as often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself completely in My mercy,
adoring and glorifying it; invoke its omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners;
for at that moment, mercy was open wide for every soul. In this hour you can obtain
everything for yourself and for others for the asking;
 it was the hour of grace for the whole world
– mercy triumphed over justice.’”
Divine Mercy Diary (1572, page 558)
The Divine Mercy Rosary is a sure way to increase one’s love for all. For when saying the very simple prayers, one is praying for everyone, even those who cause problems, and even with deep feelings of hatred and animosity in us. For all of our emotions and feelings pass quickly. Yet hatred of another does not end when embraced. It brings in coldness to the soul that freezes the heart shut. It is not an emotion but becomes a ‘way-of-being’ affecting all aspects of one’s life.
If one truly hates, the saying of this powerful, loving prayer will not be possible, or if said, will be done in a mechanical way. For the chaplet is a grace flowing from the very Heart of Jesus Christ, seeking to heal all of us of the hatred that seems to be alive and well at this time of history. Perhaps it has been the same at all times.
Love and fear cannot exist as equals, either one or the other is growing in the soul. For we are here to learn to love because God is love. To truly hate one human being, truly hate, is to put oneself in darkness (1 John 12:11).
In praying the Chaplet of Mercy, we pray before the Eternal Father to bring all souls to heaven, to have mercy on all. We say this because we know we need mercy, perhaps more than those we pray for.
Every hour is 3PM, every minute is a time to pray this beautiful phrase “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and the whole world”. To say just this simple prayer will open up our hearts and over time we will become like the Father, because his grace has healed us, allowing us to run towards those with whom we struggle, and to show them love, mercy, and compassion, even if it cannot be returned.
The way of mercy, compassion, and love is not an easy path, but nothing can heal the depth of our souls faster than to be open to this freely given grace to all who seek it.
It is all grace, so in prayer, we pray for the same graces that we have received, will be embraced by all, and our souls will expand into becoming a true flame of divine love for all.-Br.MD
