Uncle Creepies Halloween Speak Easy For The Dead 2023

Last Halloweens mid post crisis involved monsters from around the world. This year we will tackle contacting those on the other side for fun and not for profit. But first lets have our Halloween Hymn “God is in his holy temple”, sung by the incomparable ghost preacher, Reverend Kane from Poltergeist II.

For those who wish to imbibe some spirits this fine holiday then here’s my Halloween vodka cocktail recommendation. Made with Crystal Skull Vodka by none other then Dan Ackroyd of Ghost Busters fame. Don’t forget to drink responsibly and of legal age in your country.

2 oz. Crystal Head Vodka

1 oz. Fresh Espresso

½ oz. Coffee Liqueur

¼ oz. Simple Syrup

Add Crystal Head Vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously over ice for 10-15 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with grated dark chocolate and 3 espresso beans.

We will be discussing the various ways to contact the dead, and the dead might not be on the menu so beware of what you might get. For instance, you solve this box and you’ll get a different sort of visitor.

oooooooohhhhh so scary so now that we’ve started this topic off right and spooky let’s continue shall we? Tonight we will be discussing ways to contact the dead so lets define our target communicator the ghost. Then we’ll discuss the ways to contact them.

A ghost is the soul or spirit of a dead person or non-human animalthat is believed to be able to appear to the living. In ghostlore, descriptions of ghosts vary widely, from an invisible presence to translucent or barely visible wispy shapes to realistic, lifelike forms. The deliberate attempt to contact the spirit of a deceased person is known as necromancy, or in spiritism as a séance. Other terms associated with it are apparition, haunt, phantom, poltergeist, shade, specter, spirit, spook, wraith, demon, and ghoul.

Necromancy - The supposed practice of communicating with the dead, especially in order to predict the future. The word comes from Middle English nigromancie, via Old French from medieval Latin nigromantia, changed (by association with Latin niger ‘black’) from late Latin necromantia, where the first element represented Greek nekros ‘corpse’.

The translator Philemon Holland (1552–1637) gave the name Necromancy to that part of the Odyssey (book 6) which describes Odysseus' visit to Hades.

A biblical necromancer was good ole King Solomon. Not only was he credited for summoning a spirit but also enslaving demons via magic ring to build the temple. The alleged seals of said demons can be found in the Goetia: the lesser key of Solomon. Found in many bookstores today.

Popular methods of communicating with the dead were holding seances, using ouija boards, hiring a psychic, and in our modern era we can allegedly talk to guests and get responses from digital recorders in the form of EVP’s, spirit boxes, and other high tech electronic devices. Lets look in tome of thes shall we?

seances - a meeting at which people attempt to make contact with the dead, especially through the agency of a medium. Mediums (not to be confused with clothing sizes) would contact the dead and the spirits would communicate via a series of tapping, automatic writing where the spirit would take over the medium and doodle messages on to a pice of paper, and even ouija boards. In the mid to late 1800’s spirtualism was at its peak and very popular mediums at the time were the Fox sisters.

The Fox sisters were three sisters from Rochester, New York who played an important role in the creation of Spiritualism: Leah(April 8, 1813 – November 1, 1890), Margaretta (also called Maggie), (October 7, 1833 – March 8, 1893) and Catherine Fox(also called Kate) (March 27, 1837 – July 2, 1892).[1] The two younger sisters used "rappings" to convince their older sister and others that they were communicating with spirits. Their older sister then took charge of them and managed their careers for some time. They all enjoyed success as mediums for many years.

In 1888, Margaretta confessed that their rappings had been a hoax and publicly demonstrated their method. Margaretta attempted to recant her confession the next year, but their reputation was ruined and in less than five years they were all dead, with Margaretta and Kate dying in abject poverty.[2][3]Despite their confession, the Spiritualism movement continued to grow in popularity.

Spirit ectoplasm and spirit photography became proofs of contact with the other side as well.

ouija boards - The ouija (/ˈwə/ WEE-jə, /-i/ -jee), also known as a spirit boardor talking board, is a flat board marked with the letters of the Latin alphabet, the numbers 0–9, the words "yes", "no", occasionally "hello" and "goodbye", along with various symbols and graphics. It uses a planchette (small heart-shaped piece of wood or plastic) as a movable indicator to spell out messages during a séance. Participants place their fingers on the planchette, and it is moved about the board to spell out words. "Ouija" is a trademark of Hasbro(inherited from Parker Brothers),[1] but is often used generically to refer to any talking board.

Now for your spooky ouija board listening pleasure.

Television Psychics:  We’ve seen them on tv the Cynthia Browns, John Edward, Chip Coffee of Paranormal State and many others. Some have even claimed they have successfully helped local and federal law enforcement agencies solve crimes. Lets see what the statistics say from the police themselves. (Put in story about statistical data)

If you’re interested in watching psychic television for the Halloween season then I suggest you follow this link to screen rants most popular tv psychics list here ———> https://screenrant.com/best-psychic-medium-paranormal-reality-tv-shows/

Electronic ghost hunting devices are cameras, emf meter, digital recorders, flash lights, Ghost(spirit) box, and rem pods to name a few. These items as well as ouija boards, grimoires and other communication devices can be found for purchase online for that ghost hunting and chatting experience. Results may vary, always get permission if you’re going to try your hand at spirit communication in cemeteries, abandoned buildings etc.

This episodes movie is the 1941 horror, thriller, classic, ‘Invisible Ghost’ starring Bela Lugosi.

If now you’re having trouble falling asleep enjoy a melodic melody. Have a frightful night and unpleasant dreams, my children until the next episode of Uncle Creepies Frightful Tales.

Bonus Content: Since we are talking about the dead, here are two bonuses. The first is from the podcast Monster Talk that deals with Chinese Ghosts, the second is about crow funerals. Yes you read correctly, Alie Ward of the oligies podcast talked with a covid expert concerning the crow funeral. But first another link to crow funerals just below so enjoy the weirdness worthy of the  UM site https://baynature.org/2020/10/29/flying-in-for-the-crow-funeral/
