Faceless Woman in White: Elk Grove, CA
Paul Dale Roberts, HPI's Esoteric Detective

Halo Paranormal Investigations

I was alerted by one of my paranormal researchers - Sally Howard, that there was some ghostly talk on Next Door Neighbor in regard to the hauntings in Elk Grove, CA. As a paranormal investigator that lives in Elk Grove, there are many.  In fact, I worked a demonic case in Elk Grove that was later featured on Ghost Adventures. The episode was called "Emergency in Elk Grove" and I was the location scout for this episode. Below is the thread that I found on Next Door Neighbor. I added my comments.

From: Jorge Rodriguez - Laguna Vista
Hello, neighbors. I’m usually not one for ghost stories, but I had an experience last night on Elk Grove Boulevard near the railroad tracks that I can’t shake. I figured I’d share it in case anyone else has seen something similar.  Around midnight, I was driving through the old downtown area when I saw a figure by the side of the road. It looked like a woman, dressed in a long, flowing white gown, her hair hanging down over her face. At first, I thought it was just someone walking along the tracks, but as I got closer, I realized something was wrong. The air around me felt heavier, and my skin started to tingle.  When I glanced at her face, my heart nearly stopped. There was nothing there. Just a dark, empty void where her features should have been. She looked right at me—or at least it felt like she did—and then, without a single movement, she started gliding toward my car.  I drove off fast, glancing in the rearview mirror, and for a second, she was right there in the middle of the road, still looking in my direction. Then, in the blink of an eye, she disappeared.  I’ve heard the stories about a ghostly woman haunting the tracks, waiting for someone who never arrived, but I never believed it… until now. Has anyone else seen her? If you’re out by the tracks late at night, be careful. And if you see her, whatever you do—don’t stop, and don’t look back. Be safe this Halloween.

PAUL'S COMMENTS:
All of Old Downtown Elk Grove is haunted. The Faceless Woman in White has been seen three times that I know about. One of the sightings was reported on Facebook and the other sighting was reported to my group Halo Paranormal Investigations.

Laura Pierce - Laguna Riviera
One thing in Elk Grove. I never could stomach is all the dang ghosts. Yes. I have lived in 4 different houses in Elk Grove with a ghost. One had 3, 2 brothers and a little girl about 8 years old. All my stories have been experienced by other people.

Trisha Nava - Laguna West
I've seen her. I saw her when I first moved to Elk Grove in 2019. She was by the tracks by Elk Grove Florin, near the Save Mart.

Martha G. - Pocket
I’ve heard (but not seen) a ghost … lady died in penthouse apartment downtown. My neighbors and I all heard footsteps walking upstairs when the penthouse was vacant. Another tenant moved up there, then abruptly moved out soon after. Landlord would not say why. 👻

Mirella Roque - Laguna Park Village
We lived in a house in Stonelake when it was very new. We had soooo many paranormal things that would happen. The weirdest was finding dead birds laid out at our front door with its heart missing.

PAUL'S COMMENTS:
I have investigated a home on Stonelake. The home had a demonic force within the house. Pictures on the walls were thrown to the ground by an unseen force. The entity would lie in bed with the woman of the house. The woman was touched inappropriately. I investigated the house and captured 3 EVPs. I performed a Roman Catholic house blessing of the home two times. After the 2nd time, the demonic force was gone.

PAUL'S COMMENTS:
Below are some haunted places I investigated in Elk Grove, CA

LAGUNA CREEK WETLANDS
There are clumps of Eucalyptus trees growing in the Laguna Creek Wetlands. The old settlers of the area planted those trees there, the trees were imported from Australia. The trees serve as good windbreakers for their parked caravans. There was an 1850 cholera outbreak in this area and a little girl that died of cholera is sometimes heard whimpering in this area of the trees. A floating mist or the sighting of a blonde little girl lying in the grass dying has been seen by high school students. She is known as THE WIMPERING GIRL.  Other paranormal activity at the Laguna Creek Wetlands trails. There have been two sightings of Dogman in the wetlands. A giant salamander has also been seen in the wetlands. It was discovered that 2 students at UC Davis released the giant salamander in the Wetlands.

LEE/WIGHTMAN HISTORICAL SITE
At this site, there was a blacksmith shop; utility/smokehouse built in 1870, tenant house built in 1907; Barn Granary/ Pump House / Harvester Shed built in 1917; Storage Shed. Everything is now destroyed and the only thing standing is the Historical Sign Post that explains the history of the sight. It's located off Big Horn Blvd. Cross Streets: Big Horn Blvd / Anchor Bay. ACTIVITY: There is a blue orb that is constantly seen at this location.

JACK E. HILL PARK:
Jack E. Hill Park. The most popular ghosts at this park are the CHINESE PHANTOM TRIO. To learn more about the hauntings of this park, go to this article at this link here: www.costaricantimes.com/haunted-jack-e-hill-park/43737#google_vignette

MERWIN F. ROSE PARK:
In 2006, 2 men stole a car in Elk Grove. The police were chasing them, and they ditched the car. The driver was apprehended, while the passenger kept running. It was about 2 a.m. and the suspect jumped over my backyard fence and into a neighboring home across Frye Creek. The police cornered him at this home. The suspect picked up a ceramic plant container and threw it at the police officer. The police officer shot him dead. I woke up hearing the gunshots and had 2 police officers in my backyard with flashlights turned on. The suspect and his friend would hang out at Merwin F. Rose Park. 3 people in my neighborhood, including my wife Deanna Jaxine Stinson has seen the ghost of this suspect at Merwin F. Rose Park during dusk. He is wearing a hoodie. GHOST IDENTIFIED: THE HOODIE MAN.  Also, at this park, an elderly woman ghost is seen walking in the park with her head down. It is believed that this ghost was a woman who was walking in the park and was run over by a vehicle that was going through the park.  See story here: www.sacbee.com/news/local/crime/article260125655.html

RAILROAD TRACKS ON BIG HORN BLVD:
The area is the dead end road part of Big Horn Blvd. MAN ON HORSE is sometimes seen trotting along the railroad tracks. Here is one report from Dana Mesler: "Around 8pm in July of 2002, I was walking my dog Brownie, and I saw a cowboy looking guy sitting on top of his horse and trotting along the railroad tracks. I looked down at my dog, then I looked up and he was gone. I had to see a ghost!"

ELK GROVE LIBRARY:
OLD LADY OF THE ELK GROVE LIBRARY is seen sometimes browsing through the books. She wears a gray floppy dress and has straggly gray hair. Don Robinson saw this old lady and approached her and said: "That's a good UFO book!" The old lady looked at Don and frowned and disappeared in front of him. Don didn't mention anything about this sighting for 5 years, afraid people would think he was crazy.

TOWN OF FRANKLIN OFF FRANKLIN BLVD
GUNSLINGER CALVIN COLT haunts the town of Franklin, you also have 4 cemeteries to check out. THE LADY IN THE BLUE GOWN haunts Elk Grove Cosumnes Cemetery, she is seen floating around the cemetery looking for something. At Hilltop Cemetery, the ghostly image of a German Shepherd is seen sniffing the ground and then just disappearing. The story is that a groundskeeper used to bring his dog named Leon to the cemetery while he would cut the grass and trimmed the bushes and Leon loved to roam around the cemetery on his own. When Leon died, he went back to the cemetery that he loved so much. GHOST DOG IDENTIFIED: LEON. Franklin Cemetery has a notable buried there from the Lewis & Clark Expedition.

EAST LAWN ELK GROVE MEMORIAL CEMETERY
East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial, many ghosthunters have captured strange shadow anomalies in their photographs. Three psychics have detected my mother Rosemarie Roberts hanging around. My mother has been sighted at my own home and seen walking down the hallway by my dad in her former home in Greenhaven. My mother was familiar with this cemetery, so it would seem to me that she would hang around to see who is visiting her grave. My mother would claim that she had psychic abilities.

LOVE JUNKY BOUTIQUE
Love Junky Boutique is an old building. PIG TAILS is a little girl that is sometimes seen looking out of one of the windows of this old building and has been seen in the back of the building playing marbles. She is a little girl with brown hair, and she has her hair done in pig tails. Three people at the former Elk Grove Brewery claim that they have seen her, and she will vanish in front of their eyes.

LOLA LOUNGE
Building established in 1885. Used to be a General Store and Restaurant and Bar. It was also known as the Elk Grove Brewery and I conducted an investigation there. An old man that walks with a cane haunts the establishment. There is a little boy ghost in coveralls that will run through the establishment.

SCHOOL OF ROCK
Used to be the building for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows - Elk Grove. 1st meeting for IOOF was on May 2, 1888. The original building burned down on July 7, 1892. Michael Jay Terrence says that he once was on one of the top floors and saw 3 men that looked like they had melted skin. Possible victims of the fire in 1892? GHOSTS IDENTIFIED: THREE BURNED MEN.

WILLIAM EHRHARDT MANSION
