Just finished reading the online edition of Unique Ghostly Tales & How They Came to Be by author Emily Barton. I was very impressed with her book, it was very well researched. A lot of the stories I was able to relate to, since I am a paranormal investigator that has traveled to 59 countries and territories.  I have been to Tokyo, Japan and heard about the Whispering Walls of Kyoto, Japan. I heard stories about a curse on the walls and in this exceptional book, I get all the juicy details. I live right next to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and in this book, I get details of the various hauntings in these mountains. Emily dives into stories of the Gold Rush and the miners who covered these mountains to find their precious gold. The gold rush was very dangerous times, lots of deaths and now lots of hauntings. This book is filled with international stories, and I remember when I was stationed in Germany, I had to visit the haunted Black Forest. So many stories come out of this forest, and I found Emily's story about the Spectral Knights fascinating. In 1974, I visited the Paris Catacombs, and in this book, you get some chilling stories about the catacombs.  This is a book that is truly hard to put down. You love water spirits?  Well, dive into the story of the Ganges River in India.  Do you remember the story about the Vanishing Hitchhiker?  Yep, that story is in this book and get some more chilling information about this incredible haunting.  Emily outdoes herself with this informative book that will give you goosebumps, even when the lights are on in your home!  Scary as all heck!
