  2. My first New Earther!

Yes I agree it's possible. It's still equivalent to saying A may, or may not, lead to B. Your premise logically can never be false. Consider the truth table for the material conditional. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Material_conditional#Truth_table In your premise the consequent (q) - may, or may not, lead to B (other beliefs) - can be represented by the disjunction B OR NOT B. By the Law of excluded middle B OR NOT B is always true. A material conditional statement where the consequent is always true, is itself, always true. I don't accept that the premise is useful in anyway. Recalling my JW former colleague - she worked in sales. Hearing her talk to customers - it occurs to me that she had an ability to believe or "just accept" and it was an asset.

@cormac mac airt Could you give a brief synopsis of the article? My poor tired brain is not up to wading through that article at the moment.
  4. Pelosi Picks on newly elected women of color

Not really--it was quite deliberate as he was playing to his base.
  5. You can make up stories all you want. You can be like the radar operator Day. I see intelligently constructed craft all of the time. I just don't know what they are, which makes them UFOs for me. Then again the people I work with can easily identify them. The fact you couldn't identify something is as meaningless as the fact I am not able to identify the crafts.
  6. My first New Earther!

I hate it when writers abuse the word "civilization", especially when in this case the word is nowhere in the actual genetic study. https://www.academia.edu/28677243/A_genomic_history_of_Aboriginal_Australia cormac
  7. Fravor says Day is dead wrong and his story is fiction. https://badufos.blogspot.com/
  8. Is God Real

Type...writer? Typewriter. How quaint. I wonder how many young people know what that is.
  9. Please provide any evidence that UFOs are sensitive. You wrote "especially in such sensitive areas as UFOS, and geezus do I mean sensitive" I don't believe you.
  10. How many forum members believe in Bigfoot

Earlier I posted a link to the man in the raccoon suit that was mistaken for a BF. Now for the rest of the story. Not only were the folks reporting the BF out there as a group of experienced BF searchers they were also testing a product. They went out testing a for sale product to lure in BF. The video of them finding raccoon man was on the BF lure product website till it was discovered that they had not seen a BF. I wanted to put a link to that product here but it seems that the lure sales went belly up - raccoon style.

  12. My first New Earther!

I think belief in YEC is only indicative of a belief that thinking can hurt your head.
  13. How many forum members believe in Bigfoot

What is astonishingly clear is that areas which do not have breeding bear populations are the same areas in which there are less than 0.1% of the BF reports. These are the same areas which have been offered as speculation that bears cannot be the cause of the BF sightings. Still leaves 99.9% of the BF reports in bear populations areas, i.e. places where bears breed and are not traveling through those areas. This shows that the misidentification of bears as BF is probably the main cause of BF sightings.
  14. What are you playing right now?

Lately I've been playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey with Alexios! Great storyline, great scenery, great setting of ancient Greece. Loving it, except.......
  15. I just removed WhatsApp from my phone last week tbh. I don't use it and the only reason I downloaded and installed it in the first place was because my son's basketball coach said get it as we have a WhatsApp group on there for the team. I don't use it to text or make calls or anything else. The basketball group only announced the game times is all which was just as easily looked up online through the website. Was a complete waste of time in my case
  16. Tourists rushing to climb Uluru ahead of ban

    There's some confusing information about. https://quadrant.org.au/magazine/2018/04/banon-climbing-ayers-rock-immoral-illegal/ https://aiatsis.gov.au/exhibitions/journey-handback
  17. My first New Earther!

Would you agree that, for some people, belief in "A" might lead to belief in "B", based on the person's assumption that "A" was correct?
  18. Let's talk history

Not according to that author. And anyway, if we can find Denisovan DNA in us and Neanderthals, we should be able to locate native horse genes from under a thousand years ago in a wild population. Harte
  19. MMORPGs

I played Guild Wars 2 from beta then release, then played for 8 months, then stopped. Then took a couple years break, then returned. Rinse and repeat. It's a big money grabber now. I am sad and quite embarrassed to admit I have literally spent thousands of dollars on that game. I'm absolutely disgusted in myself now when I look back at how I had no self restraint due to being so addicted and just having to have that new skin out in the gemstore for fashion wars etc. No more mmorpgs for me till the next part of the storyline comes out ofc

  22. Pelosi Picks on newly elected women of color

It is sad the democrats women`s blog condemns the whites ,when they are the racism https://news.yahoo.com/trumps-tweets-democratic-women-color-112532811.html;_ylt=AwrEk5fgfS5dyO4AwQRpCWVH;_ylu=X3oDMTByMDgyYjJiBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMyBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw
  23. That's absolutely beautiful. I love what she's done throughout the entire house actually. I especially love the colours she's used in her kitchen as splashbacks (bright reds, oranges, yellows etc). Those colours with the natural light reflecting off them instantly gave me a feeling of happiness. It brought a smile to my face just looking at the picture. Such a lovely job she's done! I even love the leadlight glass work she's gone in her lounge/sitting room area. The light behind the blue glass looks spectacular! Plus the leadlight cupboard door just above and to the left of the fireplace looks beautifully done. What a colourful home and yes, it does have that whimsical feel to it @South Alabam I totally agree!
  24. My first New Earther!

I didn't say you did. I post #52 you said ... It's the behaviour (not beliefs) introduced here that I am referring to as anti-social. You later introduced racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. I've interpreted behaviour as being tied to beliefs. That belief in YEC is a gateway to other beliefs and potentially anti-social behaviour. NB, I am includin unfair work-place discrimination under the umbrella of anti-social.
  25. It doesn't matter what the reason for it was, Plato says it ALL was destroyed and NOT just a portion of it. That's pretty final IMO. Also, the punishment was to teach Athens a lesson, not Atlantis. cormac
