I like the change of wording here: "all serious believers in the Mandela Effect" I don't see a believer int he Mandela effect as sensible. I do believe they can be serious believers. Although this is based on your predilection for the paranormal, "we honestly believe have no satisfactory 'normal' explanation." it isn't true at all. It is all about the fallibility of human memory. It changes over time and even over short time periods. There can be differences between short term and long term memory. This leads to confusion and what you described as your experience sounds just like a normal human confusion issue. We all have them. I certainly do. Confusion is not paranormal. It's just the result of the tools we were born with.

  4. Climate Change is a Hoax

Settle down a bit. Where is YOUR common sense here? You respond to "unicorn world" with "monster under the bed world". There is a path to follow using technology and science that does not result in pie in the sky or hand wringing It is about cost and development and alternatives. Do you really think natural gas and coal fired turbines require no maintenance? The company I work for has one whole casting plant that makes thousands of replacement blades for land based power generating turbines every year.. They have to be shut down and overhauled because the hot exhaust gases are corrosive. In a coal plant they also carry abrasive ash particles. The things that you say can go wrong indeed might go wrong. There is a probability and a cost one can assign to each of those events. There are also pipeline leaks and coal train wrecks and dams silting up, and nuclear accidents. There is no trouble free life for us. It is just a matter of comparing costs and risks.
  5. Cern and time line jumping

I read your statement and it reads like a memory problem. You read the material multiple times because it did not jive with your memory causing the misreadings. You are free to pretend that your event and others are something other than human fallibility. Don't forget that your memory of the event gets modified over time. You see the paranormal everywhere and I'm sure you have a modified memory that has reinforced your personal urge to see paranormal events. Are there "sensible believers in the Mandela Effect"? Yes, if they recognize that this is about human memory and the manner in which it operates. Those that think it is indicative of some unproven, untestable, bizarre explanation are not sensible, not even a little bit.

  11. US government covered up UFO incidents

That was a good article because it shows that AA batteries early in the war were ineffective till the proximity fuse was introduced that allowed a miss to be a hit as the shell exploded.
  12. Cern and time line jumping

Your experience is a good example of what many of us are talking about. Memory editing, false memories, faulty memory. Every single time we remember something we edit that memory, adding newer details.

  14. Nature's answer to over population. More people living closer together while pathogens are carried all over the world as we freely travel to other countries. It's only a matter of time. If nature doesn't do it, some shady Scientist living under a dictator might release his engineered Frankenstein viruses instead. I worry about outbreaks far more than war or bombs.

news on timing for 2nd reading of W A. Michael Fabricant‏Verified account The Government Whips have decided that the 2nd Reading of the Withdrawal Agreement Bill will be on Friday 7th June hoping ministers can be forced to vote for it and that backbenchers of all parties will not be there as Thursday and Friday was when they were scheduled to be away.

It is Sunday for results I think, exit polls should be available earlier though.
  17. US government covered up UFO incidents

These statements are basically all failures. The radar returns were assumed to be targets when there is little indication they were actual objects. You claim that the object had a "high rate of speed". That appears to be a falsehood. You suggest "Then the craft turned around" when there does not appear to have been anything in the air. You summarize with "These collective motions are impossible for a weather balloon to make". Only you are claiming all of these supposed actions are real and had to be a single object such as a balloon. At best this is a disingenuous alteration of what other posters have stated. You double down with "This flying object was clearly under some kind of power for propulsion." Again, only you are making up this fantasy set of motions and claiming that there was anything in the air. I partially agree on this: "This object is NOT a balloon of any kind." I only agree that your fantasy is unrelated to reality and has nothing at all to do with what has been stated. The number of rounds 1,400 is not that many. A single AA gun in WWII had a firing rate of 300 or more rounds a minute. So 1400 from several guns is hardly anything at all. A question is the efficacy of AA fire. https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/33sa2x/effectiveness_of_shipborne_antiair_in_wwii/ This appears to be a falsehood: "Eyewitnesses claimed that they saw shells hit the object and bounce off of it." There is no way anyone could tell if the object was hit. They certainly could not tell if something bounced off. Is this even true? I doubt it. Ballons can and did survive AA fire. That was the problem in WWI with zeppelins attacking London. Cover up no. Bizarre effort to fictionalize the event? You betcha

I would accept it if I didn't feel it was just a best attempt at a simple explain-away by those resistant to the mysterious. I honestly believe my experience is strong evidence for me that the 'explain-away' is just that.

Well let's see, our view on the topic is founded on science, a democratic mandate and equality. Theirs is founded on a very outdated book. Who's to say which is more civilised? Ours. Ours is more civilised.

What scandals? You mean like being born in Kenya, bowing to foreign kings, selling guns to crime cartels, getting a bj in the oval office, selling secret tech to China, invading countries for WMD's where they don't exist, etc. etc.? Let's face it, all these guys are bullet proof.
  24. "Ok to be gay" school lessons cause unrest

Yes, the parents are free to believe whatever they like. The children are also free to believe whatever they like. They also have the right to an education. This is part of that. Unless it is a religious lesson, parents cannot just remove their children from education.
