Right, join a ghost hunting team - via a local library or on the internet.  Express a sincere interest in cases where things get thrown by the spirits.
Now attend such all-nighters with a pocket filled with some old pennies.  Your main aim in the game here is to pick up and keep any 17th-18th century coins which the p*ssed-off ghost hurls at you.  If any of the other ghost hunting squad are nearby when you're attempting this simply take out of your pocket one of those old pennies(circa 1960) and do the switch.
By the end of a full years worth of such "Investigations" you should now have a healthy collection of old coins/tokens.  Go and get them appraised, you never know - you may now own a few rarities.  If this turns out to be the case - plan another years worth of free wealth at those key locations/properties where your chances of obtaining something valuable are highly likely.

I've just finished off my dinner and enjoyed every last bit of it.  I had chips, peas, gravy with a jumbo battered sausage banged on top.  Absolutely delicious.
