Flash flooding in Herrisonville yesterday after the thunderstorms.

I've had Hendrix on the brain for the last few years, well I've always been a fan but when I stopped working on playing metal I became hyper aware of how much richer and deep Jimi truly was than any metal guitarists. I almost felt that I've wasted years (decades really) playing what is comparatively a very shallow style.
Today I posted my usual tribute to the master here and then picked up Maria (my Fender Telecaster) and started playing and I think I gained some insight about the way Jimi embellished chords. Most notably like he does in Little Wing, and how the embellishments really function.
I know some people hear my playing and think I'm pretty good, even on the occasion that I jam with other musicians they seem impressed, but I know I still have far to go. I think I just leveled up though. But experience (lol) has taught me you never can be sure until you try to play it tomorrow.  Wish me luck.

I went on a date yesterday to see the Han Solo movie. Firstly, the date was really amazing!! Not something I'll ever forget. Secondly, in spite of my skepticism about this one, the film is actually really fun. It's really enjoyable. Before I went into the cinema to see it, people kept walking out loudly vocalizing what a good film it is. That got my hopes up. It didn't disappoint. It's not, like, a legitimately GREAT film by a long shot. It's not that type of epic film of major historical and artistic significance, BUT, it IS really entertaining (maybe moreso than some of the other recent ones--way better than Rogue One), and the new actor did a remarkable job emulating Harrison Ford as Han Solo. It's very convincing. Plus, the Lando dude was spot on, too. There is a great spoiler in the film. Loved it. All my skepticism disappeared within the first half hour of the film.

Be kind and decent. Keep in mind that children and minors wander around here. Be good and courteous to each other of age too.

There's a conspiracy of 0.1% of the population in control of our lives. They have always existed and will always exist. The rest of us live to serve them.
