A Manchester University team hope to prove that the leather and wood "Cairo toe" not only looked the part but also helped its owner walk.

They will test a replica in volunteers whose right big toe is missing.

So it was used for cosmetic reasons, but I wonder if it hindered her daily walks in life? Since there was some wear to it.

Ancient Egyptians were a prideful civilization when it came to their art. Even perfection shows on prosthetic parts. :D
