Man bets on Elvis riding into London on Shergar

An unemployed Devon man has placed what has been described as one of the most bizarre bets ever at odds of 20 million to one.

Ian MacMillan has put 5p on Elvis Presley riding into London on Shergar and playing missing peer Lord Lucan at the men's Wimbledon final.

He stands to win £1 million from William Hill in the unlikely event it ever happens.

Romaine Snijder from William Hill said: "This is one of the most bizarre requests we have ever had."

Mr MacMillan, from Paignton, originally wanted to place a £10 bet, which means he could have collected £200 million on the wager.

But he says Hills was concerned about the liability and limited the bet to 5p.

Mr MacMillan came up with the idea after reading about Les Carvell's luck in The Sun. Mr Carvell, from Essex, was dubbed the luckiest man in Britain after winning £1.1m on the National Lottery and a further £74,500 on the horses.

"I wrote into William Hill with my idea after the thing with Les Carvell. Hills agreed to accept the bet only if it was 5p. It was done as a bit of fun really," added Mr MacMillan.

Hmmmmmmmmm I wonder................... :s01
