Its true enough, that in the UK, you now have Hotels and B & B's, who advertise as being "Gay friendly Establishments".....interesting angle..

perhaps ill open a Hotel, and ill advertise as "Gays, Blacks & Muslim friendly" lets see which minority starts complaining first, and see how quiick my "Open Minded" hotel gets shut down...

These cretins, make their rules up as they go along, we 50 something, white, straight, middle class, old fools cant keep up!

No offence to you Lord Scrummage, but personally i wouldent go that far.

My way is never directed at a indivudal but jokling at something they may have done,

A friend was walking his girlfriends (paris hilton)teapcup tiny rat dog, an ill just look at him an say,"thats gay". he goes red, laughs. and were done.

No offence taken Luie, but you get my point,

I remember back in the eighties, i was member of our local community Cricket team, and one of our regular opposition teams best player was a Gay fetishist, when ever i was Bowling to him, id whisper to him " OOOhhhh, bet you cant wait to pound my ball with your big bat"......was only meant to put him off...

we all laughed about it later down the pub

I remember i once went into a butchers shop, and unknown to me, the butcher was gay!

I remarked to him, "oh you dont see many faggots in butchers shops these days"....well the butcher went mad!, i managed to explain to him, i meant faggots meat balls.....a popular dish when i was a boy....

He appologised, realising it was an innocent comment!, ofcourse, now that could mean a prison term....

gay

adjective

happy:

1 We had a gay old time down at the dance hall.

2 If a place is gay, it is bright and attractive:

3 The streets were full of gay people.

They hijack a word then don't allow us to be derrogatory about it, I cannot stand gay people, especially on a wet Monday morning on the train.

but don't make jokes because everyone of them is made of fragile porcelain and might break. Where as the rest of us can take a joke. Like the fact that im below average height. I must here a short joke at least once a day which is a lot more than i hear gay jokes but you don't see me running like a pansy to the human rights commission trying to get people in trouble. Some people need to harden the ^$^$ up.

Most people just don't care what two consenting adults get to... but in this chilled out apathy- the gay rights movement has been pushing and lobbying-

to get these stupid bills through (12 bills since labour got in) and changing the definitions of words- legal definitions. Which imo is dangerous.

I mean seven yrs-- that's more than the average rapists gets etc..

Check this-link

Homophobia is a resentment or fear of gay and lesbian people. This could be shown as a passive dislike of gay people, or active victimisation.

Transphobia is a resentment or fear of transgender or transsexual people.

A Hate Crime is any incident which constitutes a criminal offence, perceived by the victim or any other person as being motivated by prejudice or hate.

I mean wtf does 'passive dislike' mean? er does it mean you don't mind gay people or if you don't support everything the gayrights movement advocates then you're homophobic! Shock horror.... like we haven't seen this tactic used in the UM.. :innocent:

Gives a lot of room for the lawyers to play with- as well as the word -perceived .

You're going to get a lot of stupid cases/incidents from this law..

we've already had the 'four policemen sent to school when another pupil called another one gay' gay as in the slang... weak.

Whyso many specialised laws... weren't the normal laws governing 'bullying' or 'assault' good enough?

I was waiting for your comment Ripley.. I thought you'd be outraged at this fascist law--because of freedom of speech and it can turn the 'don't carers' against the gayrights movement. No? :innocent:

Justice Secretary Jack Straw told MPs the gay harassment law will be included as an amendment to the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill currently going before Parliament, though ministers have yet to decide the wording.

"It is a measure of how far we have come as a society in the last ten years"

No, homophobia is just a dislike of homosexuals. IMO, not supporting every law concerning gay rights doesn't make you a homosexual. Homophobia is where you don't understand and actively dislike with their lifestyle.

As for myself, I'm all for gay rights. It's their business what they get up to, but i'm more than happy to support laws that allow them to have equal treatment like everyone else. It's when they start getting preferential treatment in the way of the law that I get angry. Then again, if ANYONE regardless of their race, creed or lifestyle get preferential treatment, that annoys me.

We're all human beings, we're all on the same planet. There shouldn't be any laws seperating us.

That's the common understand- the one I gave is the legal definition.. see.. very cleverly worded.

It's already happened- and as we can see more preferential treatment is on the way. If a gay person-minority is attacked- if convicted- the perpetrator's sentence is automatically doubled.

We're all human beings, we're all on the same planet. There shouldn't be any laws seperating us.

Agreed...It's getting silly and imo somewhat dangerous..

We have already seen the potential of what the Liberal lunatics can do in Britain.

I seem to remember them making it illegal for Church run adoption agencies not to let gay couples adopt a child. Now the laws are being changed more and more to benefit homosexuals. I seriously think that unless politics takes a major swing to the right the day is coming when it won't just stop there, the Liberals will actually try to make religion illegal and maybe even wage war against nations not liberalised.

I will say it makes me laugh that such things as prophecy and the bible predict absolute evil will fall over the world but will eventually be defeated. I wonder if this evil they refer to as we are getting very near 2012.
