IamsSon Posted October 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2007 Iraqi Army at Besmaya Installation Support San Diego Fire Victims By U.S. Army Sgt 1st Class Charlene Sipperly Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq Public Affairs BAGHDAD, Iraq — Members of the Iraqi Army in Besmaya collected a donation for the San Diego, Calif., fire victims Thursday night at the Besmaya Range Complex in a moving ceremony to support Besmaya’s San Diego residents. Iraqi Army Col. Abbass, the commander of the complex, presented a gift of $1,000 to U.S. Army Col. Darel Maxfield, Besmaya Range Complex officer in charge, Multi-National Security Transition Command Iraq, to send to the fire victims in California. The money was collected from Iraqi officers and enlisted soldiers in Besmaya. In a speech given during the presentation, Col. Abbass stated that he and the Iraqi soldiers were connected with the American people in many ways, and they will not forget the help that the American government has given the Iraqi people. Abbass was honored to participate by sending a simple fund of $1,000 to the American people in San Diego, to lower the suffering felt by the tragedy. SOURCE They hate us sooo much and things are soooo bad in Iraq because of us that they are collecting money to help us.

EmpressStarXVII Posted October 31, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2007 Hmmm, I wonder how the anti Bush will do a spin on this one? Yes, because God forbid somebody look at it from a different point a view, and have an opinion other than your own? Iams, I'm soooo happy to see that no matter what part of the world you're in the want to care for your fellow human being exists, even amongst a region that needs such desperate help. It's truly touching.

el midgetron Posted October 31, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 31, 2007 lol, we dump billions into Iraq and you dopes woo over 1k. Yeah thats swell and all, I have allways liked the Iraqi people, they are good folks. However, I fail to see how an amount as staggering as "1k" can be used to justify a war that has caused at least "100k" civilian deaths. Whats that, like one cent a head? How about I donate 1k to 911 truth? Will that make you accept 911 was an inside job and that the American people are behind a new investigation? Truly touching my ass! Such a shame that you don't think Iraqi's donating money to the victims of the Californian Wildfires touching. Such a sad state to see someone so heartless. Now that's a spin. Don't be swept into the whole justifying the war thing, it's pointless. What is the point, is the care and compassion they have for people in strife other than themselves. $1,000 dollars may not sound like a lot, but that is equivalent to 1,252,100 Iraqi Dinar. And I doubt the victims of the fire will complain about it. It truly is a touching story. Edited October 31, 2007 by EmpressStarXVII

Spin #2, $1 K donation from the Iraqis does not match the billions we have spent helping them, and 9/11 is someone related to the $1K donation of the Iraqis. That is why they hate us??? stevewinn Posted October 31, 2007 #16 Share Posted October 31, 2007 I think its a great gesture by the Iraqis, its good to see a 'good news story from Iraq for once' If there was no foreign insurgents in Iraq, Iraq would have been well on the road to recovery and showing Iraqs true potential as self governing nation, shame the way things have turned out, but theres more hope in Iraq now than under the rule of Saddam,
Ins0mniac Posted October 31, 2007 #17 Share Posted October 31, 2007 News FLASH Iraqis are not the BORG. They do not all think the same. Some of them like America. Some of them don't. Some of them kindly give donations to help with the fires in California. Some try and blow Americans up. I must say though, IamsSon's idea that this $1000 donation (however kind) is some sort of proof that Iraq isn't going that bad is kind of silly. So would the people of Huston then start killing each other and plant IED's all over the place trying to kill who ever pass's by. Would the people of Huston love there occuppiers because now they have no food, clean water and no electricity let alone decent medical care. I even bet you might find a small handful of people that have benifited from a corrrupt occupation and had recieved bribes and special treatment and hence you give a little back as a good will jesture to your ocuppiers. Do that and those specail benifits might keep on rolling in. As was said, a very sweet peice of propaganda. I'm suprised you didn't try to edit my post like you did earlier to someone else's to appease your self proclaimed delusions. I suggest you take a little holiday and visit Iraq wearing a nice big American flag on your back and go for a stroll through the streets. Ya, i bet you would last 10 min with out 20 sodliers behind you. You really sound like you work for Bush, a known war criminal.
