Did we land on the moon?

Let's not forget that the original lunar landing plans called for the massive Nova (for a direct ascent) or multiple Saturn I launches (Earth Orbit Rendezvous - EOR).

The Nova was never built because its lifting power was not required.

Multiple Saturn I launches could have done the job. So yes, if the Saturn V could not lift as much weight it would have still been possible - but using a different method to get there (launch all the pieces individually instead of together, join them up in orbit, go to Moon).

Like I said I get flammed for this all the time; so truly its not worth debating lol... I was just saying that I believe no man has stepped outside our atmosphere. And the 0 psi where did you get that. you do understand you implode in outer space. Or explode or what ever. Its like a balloon you let it go up to high what happens?

For the TV thing. I have cable.

And the forecast thing. Just because you look down on something doesnt mean you cant look up.

Oh my, you're here too.........whoa..........

When the shuttle or the ISS cross your area of the sky you can see details with a decent pair of binoculars. Just how would they hoax that? How would they hoax GPS and communications satellites? How could they possibly get every nation and scientist in the world to go along with it?

Okay, let's start from the beginning.

Ignoring whether anything can survive up there or not, do you have any problems with a rocket being able to be launched into Earth orbit?

By all means of respect, but why do I feel that I just sailed past the latitude of surreality and absurdity. I am just wondering, but what exactly do you base this on? Some more details would be nice. Obviously, with 0 PSI, space suits are required. But I all the previous posters basically addressed your concerns, so I am not going to waste your time on that.

Thank you frenat, you beat me to the punch. What if I were to say to you that I could prove to you that satellites exist. What if I were to say to you that I could prove we have (at least) unmanned equipment in orbit. Google iridium flare ReignStarz :) You will usually see a couple a night. They are predictable down to the second. You can actually see the sunlight glint of the satelitte with the naked eye.

If there is enough pressure in a weak enough enclosure the pressure will burst the enclosing walls, however if it is build strong enough it will keep the pressure in, much how a Submarine keeps pressure from crushing it. If you exhale before being exposed to a vacuum then you will be alright for a few seconds until your blood boils.

But as I said, as long as the pressure is sustained within a high strength enclosure it wont explode.

Also, Satalittes. . . serusly dude. . . How the hell could they of mapped the entire earths surface in Google Earth? or how could they use these things for Communication, TV, etc.

FYI Cable Companies use Satalites to get channels...

I witnessed the last Apollo launch, in the company of hundreds of thousands of other people. The Saturn V was certainly a lot bigger than any other rocket I've seen, and it certainly flew, most impressively. Why do you think it couldn't do the job? The uprating for the final Apollo missions, minor changes only, provided an extra 6 tonnes to earth orbit anyway. And then these was Skylab, launched by a Saturn V, certainly a very large payload, easily visible and giving tangible evidence of a lot of heavy parts aboard when it eventually decayed over Australia.

You may on the size of rocket exactly to say what beside it cargo-carrying capacity? I don't think that you can. Skylab decayed over Australia, because was easier declared weight. It was to fly over Australia.

Only weight of space vehicle "Apollo" is confirmed by other side from the whole program "Apollo". I say about the link-up of Soyuz with the Apollo.

Then again, NASA does have a way of doing things the round-about way. Take for example the pen NASA spent millions of dollars developing, that would work in space; the Russians used pencils.

:unsure:<_<:rolleyes::w00t:

If one can believe that then one can believe the moon landing was a hoax: http://www.snopes.com/business/genius/spacepen.asp

The pencil/pen is a hoax.

Rusich,

The Saturn V had a lifting capacity of over 118 000kg to low Earth orbit (using the S-IVB stage). The total weight of the Skylab units (living module, airlock, docking adapter, telescope mount) were 74 900kg. Even without the S-IVB stage (which was modified to be the Skylab living module), it had the lifting capacity.

Perhaps the best way for you to confirm for yourself that what I am saying is correct is for you to visit a local university. Take the spacecraft weights and engine thrust data, and ask for them (assuming you do not have the knowledge yourself) to calculate the lifting capacity of the Saturn V.

If possible, consult someone with aerospace engineering experience. Ask them about the structures involved and if the weights make sense (that is: does this seem too light for such a large spacecraft? Do these engines produce much more thrust that we could really believe? Did we have metals that were light yet strong back in the 1960s?).

I can tell you lots of things but you might not believe me. Ask your own Academians, ask them if the data is truthful or not.

To add to what Obviousman has just said, there are engineers from all over the world with the expertise to know whether the Saturn V could have had the required lifting capacity.

Russia, the Ukraine, China, India, Japan Israel, Brazil, South Korea, France, the United Kingdom, the combined nations of the European Space Agency and possibly North Korea and Iran. All of these nations have produced or are attempting to produce space launch vehicles. All of these nations have the expertise to debunk the Saturn V if America lied about it. Where are the experts that claim the Saturn V was a fraud?

In fact, the Saturn V turns up frequently as an example in aerospace engineering textbooks.

Excellent point. However, there are also structural engineers from all over the world with the expertise to know whether or not large commerical airliners impacting a skyscraper could lead to eventual collapse....hasn't stopped that particular conspiracy theory either.

Perhaps they are at the same place all the structural engineers are? I'm beginning to see a pattern here folks!

In fact, the Saturn V turns up frequently as an example in aerospace engineering textbooks.

Add this to the fact that there are still two of them in existance which could easily be checked (not to mention the back-up Skylab) and it becomes increasingly difficult to see how NASA could have got away with the lie.

RAMS

In looking at some of the statements posted by this 'ReignStarz', and taking a look at him closely, I tend to agree...and I'm thinking that it may be fruitless to actually entertain any substantive attempts at education.

This is a kid....born after Apollo, by perhaps 15 years, after Challenger, for that matter!

He became cognizant of matters space flight, perhaps what, 6..7 years ago?

Like I said I get flammed for this all the time; so truly its not worth debating lol... I was just saying that I believe no man has stepped outside our atmosphere. And the 0 psi where did you get that. you do understand you implode in outer space. Or explode or what ever. Its like a balloon you let it go up to high what happens?

See? No manned has stepped outside our atmosphere (?). You implode, or explode, or whatever...(?)

Alas, I reconsider my initial statement.

Know what I'm seeing?

I see an opportunity. This young man plopped in here with this:

Lets throw this twist in..

I believe we never have even been outside of our atmosphere.

Now, that's ripe!

And after a question or two in his direction, we saw:

Obvious I believe that no man has stepped outside the atmosphere and I would say no unmanned(Machine?) Has either but I get flammed for that lol...I think that our technology is just not suitable yet.

Thus, we can surmise that this fellow doesn't believe that space flight has occurred!

So, ReignStarz, I have a different approach:

I shall assume that you have just recently graduated high school. I have no idea what location you graduated in (if that's the case), because you list your location as "Memoria", which is a place that appears to be located in a video game (I read your posts!). This tells me that not only are you are obviously in posession of a computer with some capability and have spent some time on it (since the game "Final Fantasy 9" has at least 4 discs...thus, alot of time is spent on this thing, and you probably have a million GB hard drive and a huge bunch of RAM, I should suppose), but that you have access to all the information you need to learn something substantial.

You say you don't believe that space flight has occurred...let alone that we actually landed on the Moon...(something we did 6 times...the last occassion being some 15 years prior to your birth, when your parents were probably just kids younger than you are now!).

Here's your challenge.

Think about that for a minute, and try to compose some questions. I'll ask you why you don't believe it.

Now, you give me a reason. Phrase it as a question, if you can, and ask it.

You won't get "flammed" here (there's one too many "Ms" in that word, by the way). You ask one question at a time, and here's what you'll get:

Answers, from one of several qualified people.

You will also get reference information, which you can research, yourself, using that high powered computer of yours (oh, thank God for these things! Do you know how much shelf space I've freed up since the advent of computers like the one I'm on (we used to read books to find out information in the "old days"....my collection of Apollo flight plans, technical debrifs, and mission and experience reports occupied about a room full of space....alas, no longer, because it's all in the computer someplace which takes up no space!))?

If you ask questions, you'll say something to the people here who know something:

You'll say, "I'd like to know."

And that will be something we will give you the opportunity to do.

A word to the wise, however.

Don't come here making declarations or statements that are presented as facts. Some of the things you have said reflect a certain lack in your knowledge base as pertains to space flight and associated topics. People with such a knowledge base who formulate statements or declarations of fact based upon a lack of knowledge generally get responses from some that are less than coordial. Come here with questions. They'll get you answers, and a way to learn for yourself.

And of course, you are the only one who can learn. It's actually fun to do, and you have the resources.

You're 19 years old. There's a whole lot of brain inside that head of yours that isn't filled up yet with junk (unlike some of us older people.... :) ).

Wanna learn something?

This would be the place.

The pencil/pen is a hoax.

... but then again nasa did go a distance in developing their heat shield tiles for the shuttle (which notoriously fall off)... while the russians just used cork (on buran)... who knows, they could have covered up the pencil/pen myth to not look like idiots with too much money to waste!

I already communicated with specialists and they have said that to NASA reports on the program "Apollo" to nag it is impossible. I have no doubt in knowledges of engineers and scientific NASA.

They have formed a report as is necessary, but paper all tolerates.
