I wouldn't think she was "bad" for having an abortion either...but I would rather that nobody ever had an abortion and people took responsibility for their actions.

She's at least doing that much, and she should receive some credit for that.

Why credit a mistake? What is she doing right. She admited it thats all. She had to admit it since she will start showing soon. :)

Why credit a mistake?

It's a mistake for her to not have an abortion?

If you want people to have fewer abortions, you can't condemn and shame them for their mistakes.

condemnation and shame

will make a young girl

more likely to have an abortion

to avoid your condemnation and shame

by the way, who's to say that she wouldn't have an abortion if she thought she could get away with it??? there isn't anywhere she could go have it done that somebody wouldn't recognize her & make tons of money for selling the story to the media. that's why soooo many stories come out about soooo many celebs. somebody will tell ALL your secrets for fame & fortune. friends & family members will even sell you out these days, if the price is right. sad, but true.

But that's the past

shaming and condemning isn't going to make her unpregnant

but an abortion can

shaming and condemning

isn't going to make your kids less likely to have sex

but education and support might

If you don't want people to have abortions

You have to focus less on slamming them for their mistakes

otherwise to avoid the shame

they might just have the abortion

so you can HONESTLY say that you feel like it is socially acceptable for a 16 yr. old girl to have a TV show (disney) and be idolized by literally millions of say 8 to 15 ys. olds to have a baby. . . . .HONESTLY.

How come he was not using condoms or she was not using any form of birth control? Dont they teach anything about sex in the USA? 16 is pretty young to be a parent IMO. Bet the boyfriend splits PDQ after the baby is born

No, I'm not saying that.

I am saying that IT'S WORSE to teach our kids that it's ok to shame, judge, and ostracize someone who has made a mistake.

How come he was not using condoms or she was not using any form of birth control?

Who knows? Maybe they were. Nothing is 100% effective.

1- you don't know they didn't.

2- so what now? Is your rigtious indignation going to reverse time and make things different?

No. But it might make your daughter see what your attitude is like

and have an abortion if she makes a mistake

rather than face your judgement and ostracization.

When a scared teenage girl

sees people on tv

calling another teenage girl names like "****, whore" and calling her a model of everything wrong with this country

will she own up to her mistake too

or will she sneak off to the abortionists

rather than deal with the judgement of others?

do you want more or less abortions?

I don't care if she has an abortion. I am pro choice. It would probably not be a bad idea for her. Its obvious her household is not stable. Why bring another child into that situation. :)

Personally, I think it abhorant to try to stop people from expressing their opinions and views on morality just so one irresponsible girl's decision is easier for her to make.

People are responsible for their own actions. If pregnant teen girl decided to get an abortion, it is her choice. If she decided to keep the baby, it is her choice. While I can agree that such a teen is NOT responsible enough to make the right choice, I do not think it society's responsibility to be extra nice to her so she doesn't make another 'mistake.'

The girl made the choice to have sex. Whatever choice she makes next is HERS. If she's going to be a parent, she'd better start taking responsibility fast, and standing up to the condemnation of peers/parents/public is a good start.

Exactly. By the way, Disney will not renew the show. I gurantee it. This is a black eye for Disney. I will be suprised if they release the 4th season that is already shot.

Who made you the grand judger of all people? What right do you have to judge someone else anyway?

That's fine if your position is that you don't mind abortions.

Myself, I'm pro-choice legislatively, but pro-life practically and personally.

If I don't want teenage girls aborting fetusus, I probably should not make a big deal out of condemning and ostracizing them.

So, what have we learned today?

We have learned that:

It's ok to condemn and ostracize a pregnant teenager

It's a good thing to also take away the pregnant teenager's livelyhood

We would rather she had an abortion

so, take away her job

and ostracize her

If only she was still unborn herself

she would receive more love and support from some of you (prolifers not withstanding)

the final message from disney and the pudits:

If you make a mistake and get pregnant

You deserve condemnation and ridicule and you're a whore

We dont' want you around our kids

And we also will take your job away

and your means of supporting said unborn child

Good luck

Abortion is looking PRETTY good right about now, eh?

So, what have we learned today?

We have learned that:

It's ok to condemn and ostracize a pregnant teenager--- Yes.

It's a good thing to also take away the pregnant teenager's livelyhood-- Yes. The image of Disney is not a pregnant kid. I don't my daughter watching it.

We would rather she had an abortion-- No, but who cares.

so, take away her job

and ostracize her--------------Yes. For sure. Life is tough. She can go work on another channel(if anyone will hire her.)

If only she was still unborn herself

she would receive more love and support from some of you (prolifers not withstanding)

the final message from disney and the pudits:

If you make a mistake and get pregnant

You deserve condemnation and ridicule and you're a whore---Yes.

We dont' want you around our kids-------No where near my kids. Correct.

And we also will take your job away- Yes.

and your means of supporting said unborn child- She wont be hurting for money.

Good luck

Abortion is looking PRETTY good right about now, eh?-- It should be something for her to consider.

Because I would like to end abortion

Not by legislation

but by making it a more attractive option

to take responsibility rather than ditch responsibity

into the garbage can of an abortionists office

condeming and ostracizing

a pregnant teenager

will only make abortion

a more attractive option

rather than taking responsibility

I don't think many teenage girls will see JLS

and think "gee, she's pregnant, it looks like so much fun I'll try it!"

but if they do get pregnant

they may see what people have called her and done to her

and opt for an abortion

If you don't mind kids having abortions, then this isn't an issue for you

but it is still wrong to judge and ostracize people

when they need support the most

i'm not saying to take away her career & ability to earn an income. i just don't think she needs this particular job anymore. her target audience is a bunch of little girls that want to be "just like her".

This family just seems to be stupid. Theres no other way to say it.

yep - i tried to come up with another way to say it, but you're right. "STUPID" about sums it all up best.

Wow..just...wow.

People who want to take the livelyhood of an expectant mother away....I'm a nearly speachless.

I can't appreciate that at all.

I figured you had an agenda. Makes sense now.

I think abortion is a good alternative in the first 3 months. There are too many unwanted children.
