glorybebe Posted December 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2007 An off-duty police officer appears to have saved Christmas for a Winnipeg-area family. The officer was driving in the Rural Municipality of Ritchot, a neighbourhood south of the city, on Sunday when he became suspicious of a vehicle. He followed the car to a home, where he watched the driver head into the home with a duffle bag. Winnipeg Police Service spokesman Sgt. Kelly Dennison said it looked like the officer prevented one family's Christmas from going the way of the Grinch. A man later came out of the home with a bag stuffed with what was apparently gifts. "From what we understand … it was actually Christmas presents that he had stolen from this residence," Dennison said. The suspect left the house and jumped into a running car. The officer followed the suspect and contacted the Winnipeg police and the RCMP. more Good! I'm glad he got caught. How horrible can one be?! That poor family would have had nothing for Christmas.
