Was that necessary? couldn't he have just used his Jedi mind powers?

LOL, they sound like a great idea to use to walk at night, not only can you see where you are going, but you can fight off any attackers!

While where on the topics of people and lightsabers..

Anyone heard of the NY Jedi? They do like live theater with costumes and good quality lightsaber models in central park or something....

 I actually feel sorry for that kid. Apparantly he didn't want anyone to see that video but school bullies put it up online.

But wow, that guy must feel good. Getting pwned by an 11 year-old.

I clicked on the link and got this story... is this the one?

Machete attack exposes man's brain

Saturday Jan 5 11:57 AEDT

A man's brain was exposed and his arm almost amputated after he was allegedly attacked by a man wielding a machete in Brisbane.

The 39-year-old man was allegedly attacked during an altercation at a Stephen Street residence, Carole Park, in Brisbane's south-west, at about 10pm (AEST) on Friday, police said.

I mean, it doesn't mention if the guy thought his machete was a lightsabre or not.... :unsure2:

If so, sounds like the work of a Sith Lord.

The toy was probably in the car, I'd say. Either that, or they had just bought it from the store they were at.

I didn't see what's wrong with an 11yr old carrying a toy about. I do like the 'in broad daylight' part of your post though, like not having one after sunset would make you a social out-cast. :)

You mean you don't? But then again... I happen to have a small spray canister. I pulled it out once at night, heading for coffee, and a would-be mugger ran from me thinking it was pepper spray.

You meanie!

Knowing my brother, he'd probably attack the guy with a bionicle - the lightsaber phase of his life ended after Attack of the Clones.

Bless his sweet little heart. My son thinks he's all action hero's rolled into one. So this little sweet heart did what he knows best. Good for him but sad that he had to protect his Mom. Imagine going to jail for this and having to tell everyone what happened and how he got caught LOL. I got beat up by an 11 year old jedi...

As much as this has achumourous side, it does make me think.

If this man was to attack a woman with her son, what would stop him from turning against the eleven year old?

This could have ended much worse.

<img src='http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/images/news/starwars.jpg' style='float:left' border='0' alt='user posted image r'>An 11-year-old boy has used a toy lightsabre to chase off a man who abused his mother in an English village. The man, believed to be in his 30s, verbally abused and punched the boy's mother, provoking the Star Wars-style attack, British newspaper The Sun reported.

The man fled shortly after the boy defended his mother. The attack occurred as the boy and his mother walked to their car outside a bakery in Swardeston, Norfolk.
