Ronin6th Posted February 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2004 When I close the UM window I usually have two porno pop-ups displaying, first entitled "S*** and ****" and the other with two women doing...hum...you know... I would like to know if I'm the only one who those things happen to, and if I can remedy this...
<bleeding_heart> Posted February 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2004 Are you using any p2p programs, it may be the advertising software that they install, you can download ad-aware to search for spyware and remove it, or your security settings could be set to low and when you browse the internet things could be installed without any knowledge. Saru Posted February 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2004 Just to confirm, there are definately no pornographic popup adverts being generated by Unexplained Mysteries, as <bleeding heart> mentioned above, you've likely got some sort of spyware/adware installed on your computer from a 3rd party p2p application. Adware should be able to clear those out for you.
Ronin6th Posted February 4, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted February 4, 2004 Oh yeah I have Ad-Aware already installed and I do a check up as often as possible...but you must be right I haven't done it recently... I've not been using a p2p program for a moment now...it must be from elsewhere...

Ronin6th Posted February 4, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted February 4, 2004 Hahahaha... Oh boy, of course not! I'm a future dad, I've nothing to do with those childish things! I've made my little investigation, and found out that a lot of my friends were troubled with the same sites displaying...so it can't be related with UM, I think it's more dued to a p2p program.
