churchanddestroy Posted March 11, 2008 #602 Share Posted March 11, 2008 The reason why God doesnt leave any evidence to prove he exist is because he believes we must have faith in him, rather than evidence. Well that seems like a boat load of fairness.

G'day furryman, Perhaps -- from a biblical point of view -- you may wish to consider the following, which I copy from the Good News Bible paraphrase of Scriptures: Rom 1:20 Ever since God created the world, his invisible qualities, both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no excuse at all! Rom 1:21 They know God, but they do not give him the honor that belongs to him, nor do they thank him. Instead, their thoughts have become complete nonsense, and their empty minds are filled with darkness. Rom 1:22 They say they are wise, but they are fools; Rom 1:23 instead of worshiping the immortal God, they worship images made to look like mortals or birds or animals or reptiles. Rom 1:24 And so God has given those people over to do the filthy things their hearts desire, and they do shameful things with each other. Rom 1:25 They exchange the truth about God for a lie; they worship and serve what God has created instead of the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever! Amen. Hhmmm ... what are your thoughts as opposed to these Scriptures?

Agent. Mulder Posted March 11, 2008 #605 Share Posted March 11, 2008 Think it through for a minute, please. danielost @ Mar 4 2008, 03:19 AM) posted that "... the Earth is the center of the universe from our prospective. ..." Question: Since there is no proof as to WHERE the center of the universe is, why is it "dumb" to claim a specific location for that center? ok, ive thought it through for a while. and.....youve got nothing in that post. from MY perspective, were NOT the center of the universe. so i dont know why someone would claim thats what everyone thinks (and they dont even spell perspective right) and youre right, there is No proof as to the center of the universe, if there even is one. so it IS dumb to claim a specific location of it, and claim its us. especially when we know so little about it in the first place. think it through for a minute, please. IamsSon Posted March 12, 2008 #608 Share Posted March 12, 2008 Agreed. It does look that way. That's probably why when the Bible was written, the people who wrote it said that the Earth was fixed in position, because, to them, it appeared to be so. That's the point, though. It was the viewpoint of men, rather than the viewpoint of God. You're seriously looking at a passage which was obviously poetic and holding it's statements up to scientific scrutiny? Come on! Even scientists speak about the sun rise or sun set... do they REALLY believe it's actually doing so?

IAMS the sun rises and sets is now used as a figure of speach..BUT back when man was writing the bible...he didnt see it that way...man actually believed the sun did rise and set... im serious...
